MY AIR CONDITIONIER ON 97 FORD EXPIDITION BLOWS HOT AIR IN THE FRONT, YOU CAN TURN THE AIR OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND IT WILL WORK SOME TIMES FOR A LITTLE WHILE. SOME TIME IT WORKS OK FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. WHEN YOU TRY AND RUN THE HEATER YOU GET COLD AIR IN THE FRONT, THE REAR AIR AND HEAT WORKS FINE.

Check the solenoid under the dash, mine seized and wouldn't switch the heat to ac, had to remove it an manualy open the door to ac, if your door is seized good luck most mechanics will tell you it's about a 10 hour job to do and about 400 bucks in parts for the box and whatever else they find wrong if you have the time to take your dash apart you can do it yourself but like I said most mechanics will want about 1000-1200 bucks to do the job.

The hot and cold air in the front is controlled by an actuator in the dash. The temp controller is working as designed because the back is working fine. You need to take to local shop to have the vent actuator or heater control box inside changed out. Then the tempaturer controller has to be reset. Good luck

MY A/C BLOWS HOT AIR WHILE THE BACK BLOWS COOL , MY 99 FORD EXPEDITION HAS COMFORT CONTROL. WHEN ISELECT A/C IT BLOWS HOT AIR BUT YET WHEN I TURN ON THE REAR A/C I GET COOL AIR IN THE BACK.

Sounds like the oriffec tube on the front coils is blocked,. Going to have to open the system, clean the oriffice and then refill. Of course when you open the system you need to flush the lines, what ever clogged it the first time could still have contaminates in the lines and cause it to fail all over again.

My air conditionier on my 2002 crown victoria is blowingout the w

Check the hoses underneath the cup holder area under the dash and make sure theres no obvious hoses disconnected. If they are ok, more than likely your selection switch is bad. You take off the plastic trim from around it starting from the passenger side of the car and remove the (4) 7mm bolts, carefully disconnect the colorful hoses and the wiring and replace the whole thing. I hope this helps

No back heat in Expedition, Blows cold air but front works fine

Shelly,

Buy used parts at car-part.com. Look on page with * to find the cheapest part. Coud be your temp blend door (#2) may not be moving back and forth. Or, you are not getting hot water to the rear heater core.

You may have to crawl under the truck and feel the heater hoses to see if they are hot. You will find a group of 4 lines, 2 for heater and 2 for a/c. If hot, you know hot water is getting back to the heater core. If not, there may be a hot water vave that's not working. Not sure if EXP. has a water valve for rear.

Let us know what you you find. Good luck.

97 Ford Econoline air conditioning and vent settings blowing hot

I know from experience that if the coolant is to low ( not just the freon levels in the compresor but the antifreeze/coolant level as well) the AC system will not cool and will blow hot. Check the coolant Antifreeze and freon levels, even with the Coolant being a little low my 1998 Ford E150 Van will blow hot. After you have ruled out of these possibilities and the chance it is the thermostat most likely the problem is what Ford calls the "Flap" it controls the air flow through the vent system when you switch from Heat to AC. When the Flap is working it closes off one systems air flow so as to not interfere with the current climate selection.
