Where is the ac expansion valve located

The expansion valve is always located at the evaporator core inlet and outlet pipe.

Bad smell coming from ac when turned on 2008 tacoma

This is likely mildew in the evaporator.
Check and verify that the evaporator drain is clear. This is the rubber hose coming out of the bottom of the firewall in front of the passenger, it is aimed at the frame.
There are evaporator cleaning products available at home improvement stores that you can spray on the evaporator (might need a friend with a skinny arm). They do not need to be rinsed, simply run the AC and the moisture from the air will condense and rinse the coils. Also check and change your cabin filter. It is located behind the glove box under the horizontal trap door. It's about $15 and should be replaced about once a year, more often if you park under a tree.

95 Buick evaporator coil

It depends on the problem. Either you don't have enough air passing thru the evap core, or the level of freon is not right, or there is a restriction in the ac lines.
A mechanic would use a set of pressure gauges to check freon flow.

Have your AC cooling coil (evaporator) washed and cleaned.

I have 1995 buick park avenue and the auto climate control only blows out hot air. I have followed the instruction in the manual and i canot get it to work. The heater works jus fine tho.

IT is possible that the blend door is not working or you may just need to clean out the evaporator (coils under the dashboard). The door is located under the dashboard where the air ducts are located. See if they are moving. Otherwise inspect the evaporator it may need cleaning. You may also need to recharge the AC system.

I have a 2007 vw jetta. A/C not working properly. It takes the A/C about 20 mins to get cold. Had the system vacumed and filled with no sucess. Can anyone help?

You may just have to clean out the evaporator unit of the AC. It is found underneath the dashboard. At times dirt accumulated over the coils and the fan would cause the AC to loose efficiency.

When my ac comes on on a hot day the air smells like mildew?? Does the cabin filter fix that?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. Actually if there is mildew in the system it takes a serious cleaning of the evaporator coil and near by plastic housing / ducting to get rid of the smell. Mildew usually starts forming on the evaporator coil and compartment when the compartment drain gets to be really slow from debris or a dust clog. You can try filters and air fresheners but all they will do is mask the mildew odor. Once the mildew routine starts the only real fix is a serious cleaning of the evaporator coil, compartment and nearby air ducting. Often it takes a good mild and mildew remover to get rid of the problem completely. The evaporator compartment will for sure have to be opened up. If a service shop is going to do the cleaning job correctly they will most likely pump out the freon in the AC system and remove the evaporator coil for proper cleaning. It is not a cheap fix as it is labor intensive and requires the AC system to be drained and re-serviced. Demand that they clean the compartment drain during the cleaning process. My comments are what it really takes to purge the mildew from the AC system correctly. Your call as to fix it or live with it.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Honda acac sometimes blows some kind of dew air throught he vents

u most likely have some condensation building up in evap box ,,need to clean it out before it gets worse,,,if u are running it on low blower ,it is going to put out mist sometimes (if the air is really cold) because of the expansion valve pulling down the tempurature

AC not cold on 93 Buick Regal Custom 3.8l

hi, it could be overcharged and frozen solid, or clogged with debris, thus air cant flow through the coil and you get very little cooling, they make this areosol cleaner solution at the auto parts store that supposedly cleans the coil under the dash, you have to drill a small hole in the housing of the evaporator and spray that stufff in there and its supposed to dissolve the debris if that doesent work try exhausing some of the refrigerant out of the system in small increments so the compressor cycles on and off, not on all the time continuously. good luck!
