Either something got unplugged, or the hose between the mass air flow meter and the throttle body is loose causing an air leak.

SOURCE: 1994 Toyota Camry XLE replaced fuel pump & filter car starts & idles but boggs out and cuts off when pressing gas pedal?

have you pulled codes or checked the fuel pressure? It could be a host of things, like a clogged air filter restricting the flow of air into the engine, a bad air meter, clogged injectors, etc. Engine codes will help you start narrowing things down.

Has the engine air filter ever been changed?

I would strongly recommend you take it back to the shop and tell them to fix it. If you have someone else fix the problem, the first shop is off the hook for responsibility to cover their error.
They could have left something unplugged.

You know the answer

The shop put the problem in there

Retrace their work

Loose Air Filter box cover & unmetered air
entering the ducting

Now the MAF Sensor can't get a correct read on the
incoming air flow

No reason to have to pay someone to install an air filter
or even a battery

Ask a neighbor for help next time & save money & know
you did the job correctly

Hello All! I need help, desperately!! I have a 2002 Camry Toyota V6 XLE, which has about 101,000 miles. For the last 8 months I have been experiencing the same problem over and over. When approaching...

The problem sounds like fuel or air more likely fuel related . Did anybody suggest replaceing the fuel filter it vary well could be the problem . Do you have pressure inside the fuel tank when you remove the gas cap right when you pull into the gas station check this . Change the fuel filter as a rule every 4 to 5 years . It could also be the canaster vent valve or purge valve or the fuel pump it self . But it is fuel related do you get and engine codes if not i would start with the fuel filter then check the out put from the fuel pump you should know where you stand after that . I dosen't sound like injectors these motors run forever good luck you can contact me at pier.j@sbcglobal.net

My 93 toyota camry starts but then dies as soon as it hits 4000 rpm or when gas released. Changed fuel filter already

This can be caused by many things, i would start with having the fuel preasure tested first, this is to make sure enough gas is getting to the motor, the releasing gas pedal may also be caused by a misfire or bad idle air control valve, have the computer scanned for codes and see if there are codes stored or comeing up, this is an older car it wont store codes to long they clear with the key unless its a hard code, which means continued failure.. hope this helps

Inconsistent idling on 1997 Toyota Camry xle V6

change fuel filter, add a can of SEAFOAM to tank of PREMIUM this 1 time. you have EGS(ethanol gas syndrome), and sounds like its very bad in your car. The corn by-product in your fuel creates a goop and puts lots of water in every part of your systems. you egr valve and your engine valves are heavily carbonized right now and need help.

Your injector spray is next to nothing. Your ECM controls the amount of fuel spray to your engine, and it the injectors are partially clogged, it tells the injectors to spray more to keep up;thus causing flooding.

I know it's alot to take in; but trust me, it's not fatal.

You may have to change your fuel filter again at 500 miles to get the last of it out, so if you do, you do.

Add SF every 3-5000 miles after this, and it will keep everything clean, unclogged, and carbon clean. GOOD LUCK
