Question about 1998 Audi A4
My ABS is light is on along with the brake light flashing. I've checked if the fluid is low but it is at the correct level. What other do-it-yourself checks should i do before taking drastic measures and going to a mechanic? Check the fuse, etc.?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had the same problem but weirdly enough I topped up my Hydrolic fluid and it suddenly stop flashing Perhaps it is a short circuit on my Audi 2.6 E Cabriolet or it actually picks up both brake fluid and Hydrolic fluid with the same light

Do the ABS brakes function? If not, there is a fault with a wheel sensor or the ABS controller. Check the OBD Codes. You can get them scanned at Auto Zone for free. If there is no communication from the ABS control unit, that's probably bad and needs to get rebuilt. Cost about $150.00 if you send in your unit.
