SOURCE: oil pump of mitsubishi montero 1998 is not functioning

If you have a timing belt on the engine it is a good bet that there is a belt that also drives the oil pump. Have you done anything to the motor like a rebuild. Missing/loose oil pick up pipe. Pump not primed before fitting. The oil goes first to the filter for cleaning before going to the rest of the engine so your problem will be in the pump drive or pick up area. Have you put oil in the sump.?

Hi please can you help ive recently overhauled the the engine on my 2l opel rekord 1986 model but for some reason it keeps blowing the oil seal on the oil filter on start once then during idling once.

full rebuild with bearings, rings, head ,referb ,new oil pump
or partial rebuild re ring ?

filter issue wont be because of rebuild or higher oil pressure

try filling the filter with some oil before fitting
are you smearing the new oil filter seal with new oil before fitting
and is the surface of the face where the oil filter spins smooth no scratches or gouges or roughness

wierd
if the seal is intact you can use silicon sealant
to get it to seat and not leak

are to putting the filter on too tight or not tight enough?

spin till contact is made to block
and hand tighten only no filter tool
run motor and if leaking tighten one third turn more

if you use the tool and screw it on heavy
will flatten the seal and
you may need to cut the oil filter off next surface

Why is the oil filter bone dry?

Blocked oil line to broken oil pump all of the suggestions I can come up with can mean that the continued running of the engine will result in engine damage and failure
Or complete rebuild will be required

How do i fix no oil pressure?

You can have the pressure checked with a mechanical guage, if that shows no pressure, replace the pump or rebuild the engine.

1500cc engine

Hi I'm Peter, Check your oil pressure some pumps as they start to go out the oil pressure will fluctuate. I would also check the oil filter housing and or pump for a pressure relief valve. if the oil filter becomes clogged there is usually a relief valve in the oil filter housing where it mounts to the engine then into the pump that if the filter collapses or becomes clogged it will open. Sometimes the spring behind the steel ball will weaken or break causing the ball to chatter back and forth. You can use a mechanics stethoscope to narrow it down further if you need. If it is your oil pump going out you will need to do something soon or you will have an engine rebuild on your hands.

HOW MANY ENGIN OIL IN V6 3000 PEJARO

5 litres of oil with a new oil filter fitted. I own a Pajero, same car.

The oil filter is a pain to get to when changing it out for a new one. I have a few different oil filter change tools, the best in the case of your car is a thin band type.

I change the oil filter every oil change on all my vehicles. It is cheaper to spend an extra $10 every oil change than to rebuild the motor.

My Peugeot is a 505 stw it is leaking oil from the gaskets how can i fix it???

clean out the engine breather system as if the gauze filter is gummed up this will make it leak oil due to internal pressure build up .if this doesnt work then its a complete engine rebuild

Transmission is slipping

Check trans fluid level. Also smell the fluid, does it smell burnt? If so you will need a complete rebuild. You don't say how many miles are on the car. Have a trans shop check the pressure reading. Have the trans oil and filter changed. It should be done every 36000 miles. If the car has over 100,000 miles on it, it's is not a good idea to change the fluid due to internal leakage which will cause more slippage and a total failure of the transmission. It might be time for a trans rebuild.

2005 galant the oil light is on only under 2000rpm

this sounds like your losing sufficient  oil pressure this can be caused by a number of things #1 very high milage  generally above 150 thousand #2 clogged oil filter #damaged oil pan/smashed or push against bottom of the oil pump #oil that is past oil change interval of manufacture #sending unit maybe malfunctioning .. i would recommend having a service shop take a look at it rite away  it could save you a lot of money if their is  a problem with your oiling system
