SOURCE: my 2006 dodge magnum rear door wont open

most likely there is a mal-function inside the door or the lock - - try first taking it to a friendly local body shop - also if they go nowhere -[ =try another ] or -- take it to a large towing company and have them try to open it - they will charge you but then your door will be open - then you can get it fixed - most body shops will fix it - but with an 06 i would also try the local dealers - sometimes they see you might buy another one -say you said to them - Why would I buy another with this one being so bad -- then they just might find a way to fix it free
Also - take down your Vin number and google - ur vin# and the words recall

SOURCE: rear hatch of 2007 magnum

If you hear a click in there it is probably latch linkage fell off. If no click at all inside the hatch, then could be the solenoid or the solenoid wire fell off.

SOURCE: rear hatch wont open on a 2010 dodge caliber

There is no lever or any key hole it is a fully electric operated power latch. As to the cause the park brake must be engaged and the car in park gear position before the hatch will open, is it?

My 2006 dodge durango rear hatch shuts but the back hatch lamp light n interior lights stay on why

The door switch isn't being pushed in far enough when the hatch is closed. The wire going to that switch may be shorted to the body somewhere, too.

My hatch opens but it won't stay up without me holding it

If your hatch opens by itself with a push of a button, you will have to replace the door open and close motor located in the left rear of car. If your hatch is manual, you will just have to replace the hatch struts.

Why will kia sedona rear hatch not stay up?

There should be small pressurized cylinders on each side of the hatch that hold it open. When these get worn they do not have the pressure to hold the hatch open and need to be replaced.

Locked trunk

The release contact switch must be dirty and will have to jiggle the rear hatch...when trying to open again...when open spray the hold down bracket, and the under side of the hatch that makes contact...the best spray for this is PB Blaster, available at Walmart auto parts section...this will not hurt the electric you still cannot open the rear hatch, you will need to remove the inside panel of the rear hatch to expose the release arm on the inside of the hatch. Hope this helps.

The rear latch does not open easy and doesn;t stay up. Whats wrong?

There should be two hydraulic struts - one on either side of the hatch/tailgate. If these struts have failed, the hatch/talgate will not stay open. Also, since these struts are compressed when the hatch/tailgate is closed, they provide positive lifting pressure when you unlock the hatch, pushing it away slightly from the latching mechanism. Replace the struts, and you should be all set.
