Question about 1995 Volkswagen Cabrio
Every time it rains my car will not start. After it has cleared up and dried out i works fine. I went to a mechanic and was estimated almost 600 for a tune up and coil replacement. Does that sound right?

SOURCE: starts hard when it rains
Try to check distributer cap. It may not be sealing tight as the clips used are notorious for not sealing properly. Also check your wires while you are at it.

i did have problems with my car not starting in the rain. after changing the distributor cap and HT leads it still. My last thing to try before taking it in was to change the ignition coil. I ordered a new and installed it and it started right up! it has rain a couple times since then and it's still starting! so i'm hoping it keeps working. hope this helps anyone.

SOURCE: jetta 95 won´t start
Moisture in your ignition system can cause this to happen , start with a cap/rotor and wire replacement. More then likely this will cure your rainy day blues.
