1996 Buick Riviera mirror switch getting no power to the switch. No blown fuses anywhere. I've checked fuses under the hood, under the rear seat, at the fuse panel on the left side of the dash. With door panel removed there is no voltage coming into the switch. Most GM's use the orange wire as the in-coming hot wire. None of the wires in the harness are hot coming in. Next I'll be looking for a broken wire. Any other suggestions? Any idea which fuse is supposed to supply power to the switch? None are marked "power mirrors".

There is no fix for this the element in the mirror is going out and you will eventually see foggy areas around the outside part of the mirror and through the middle. These are very expensive I would just live with it or try to find one on Ebay or a salvage yard. Sorry

SOURCE: AUTO DIMMING MIRROR

The Donnelly mirrors use the same 7-pin plug as the Gentex, but the pin-outs are different. Here is the pin-out for the Donnelly mirrors:

Pin 1 - +12 volts
Pin 2 - Courtesy lamp input
Pin 3 - (varies depending on mirror features)
Pin 4 - (varies depending on mirror features)
Pin 5 - Reverse disable (+12 volts in reverse)
Pin 6 - Ground
Pin 7 - Demand lighting input

SOURCE: How do I remove the front door panel to replace the mirror

Normal 0 Disconnect your negative battery cable. Locate and remove the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Remove the interior door handles, then disconnect the wire clips to the switches. Your panel is held in place by snap in clips; use a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to get as close to, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel). Once the clips are pulled, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.
Install in reverse.

If you don't have power windows you will have to remove the manual window crank. It is held in place by a clip on the back side of the base. To remove the clip, you will need a small hook (kind of like a knitting needle). Put the hook in behind the base, and grab the clip and pull it off. To replace it, slide the clip back on the window crank, and snap it back on the door.

Fuse?

I believe your owners manual identifies what each fuse box location and fuse is for. Take a little time to read it and see.

it has to have some fuse for it.. it has to be able to blow a fuse if it gets over loaded.. maybe its on the same fuse as your interior light or something.. i would deffinately go through all my fuses till i found one that was blown. they gotta be on the same fuse cause they both shouldnt be out at the same time
