Question about 2001 Nissan Altima

Open Question

Removing nissan altima power seat

Driver's seat raises and lowers, back goes forward and back, seat does not move. It looks like the seat has to be removed in order to access the motors and wiring. There are 3 bolts that are easy to remove, and the 4th, attached to the hump over the driveshaft, does not seem to have an accessible bolt. Is there a picture or a description of how I can remove this final bolt?

Look at the inside of the door directly behind the door handle. There should be a hole about 15 mm wide.
Just enough to get a small socket through.
Make sure the window is up.

the backward motor has quit working, go to junk yard and find same car in your year range up or down pay particular attention to how your seat track looks. designs change every three or four years. it must be exact or it will not work.

My 2006 nissan altima driver power seat will not move up and down but will go back and forth what the problem?

The lift motor in the power seat is probably bad. Yes, there is more than one electric motor in power seats. Have it checked and replaced if necessary.

Everything works on the power seats except unable to move seats forward and backward

There are usually 3 motors for power seats, 1 to tilt the seat, 1 to raise and lower the seat, and 1 to move the seat back and forth. I would think that motor is bad. Check for any obstuctions to the seat track.

Front seat locked in recline,

I just bought a 2005 Nissan Altima that had the same problem. You really can't bring the seat back up without removing the motor and manually turning the metal rod. The motor in my case was fine. I opened the switch and found that a trace on the small circuit board was cut/missing. I soldered it on the spot and it solved the problem. You can access the switch by carefully prying off the switch buttons, then the plate. There are two screws that must be removed so that you can pull the switch assembly out of the seat.
