Question about Cars & Trucks
Hi Hudd, I suggest you pop the hood and check the oil level on the dipstick. If oil is at the correct level, check the sender unit and wiring. If everything is fine with the sender unit and wiring have the oil pressure checked. If you have not had regular lubrication service carried out and the oil before the change was very thick and had lost lubricity, the oil pump and or bearings may have been damaged. Regards John

SOURCE: 2006 magnum oil light
This could mean a lot of things, but first replace the oil sending unit and see if that don`t do the trick,If not cam bearings most likely,or trash on the oil pump screen.Have you changed the oil?Lately?Try that along with oil sending unit replacement. Also if the last time you changed the oil, what weight oil did you use?5w/20 I think is the correct visscosity oil to use,no more than 5w30.

try replacing the oil sending unit first,
it tells the gauge on your dash how much pressure you have,if your light comes on it means you don't have oil pressure,so change the sending unit to see if this takes care of it,
