H JL, As the problem is apparent only when turning right, I believe there is a problem with the idle up solenoid or the vacuum pipes connected there. The unit is situated on the steering box and increases engine RPM when the engine comes under increasing load, when demand is increased while turning. Regards John

My 97 chrysler lhs stalls when taking corners, why?

Left or right turns? Most stalling issues while taking corners are the result of wiring rubbing somewhere on the engine/body causing shorts. Check all wiring looms/harness for signs of rubbing that may result in a stalling situation. If stalling on both left and right turns, possible fuel pump problem ( especially if you run a low fuel level ). I have also seen stalling from the ignition coil caused by its internal oil level to be low

I have a Isuzu i290 what would make it turn off as I come to a stop

wow , no year car stated, . there. and seems engine related.
the engine is
i-290 - 2.9 L Atlas LLV I4a very rare car and very poor sales (also called Vortec 2900) engine. Gas MPI injected.

this is called engine stall. right?
im not arguing words, we are being clear.
Turns off has vast connotations.
the car is full of electrics, and EFI and all can turn off. (fail) (engine off, 12vdc power turned off?(fuses and other reasons)

and the engine can stall, it goes to 0 RPM and that is stalled.
the engine is not running. stalled.
so if engine stalls , there are 50 causes.
we don't guess, we do the 1 to 10 tests using TOOLS.
and find what is bad.
ill now list top causes , not wild guessing.
1: never had a tune this decade wins hands down cause.
(operator error oldest story for 100 years now....)
2: lost engine compression/ lost.
3: spark lost (skip of diesel)
4: fueling bad, too much it floods and stalls , too little it starves.
5: lost electrical power to critical EFI systems.... dead car main battery? fuses blown
6: EGR valve stuck open.
7: ISC valve stuck closed.
leaking injectors, or clogged, or? weak?
lots more, and tests. wana learn the tests???????

each has simple test and cheap tool.
any good mech that can witness the stall can tell you while driving it why.
(dash lights , tell you)
right foot, fails to prevent stall.
violent shaking of engine , misfiring
or if adding right foot action, allows you to very easy prevent the stall, implies the ISC is stuck. now you know why hands on testing wins and asking us, blind net bunnies don't . work well...
sorry, but is true.

2009 dodge durango will not stay running

CAn you describe the problem with a little more detail. Does it start and run for a while before it stalls. Does it start and then stall right away. Is there a pattern to the stalling, turning, going over bumps, coming to a stop, trying to accelerate?

what engine do you have?

is the check engine light on?

Hello! I have a 2002 Aerio recently is turning off while in movement. i try to turn it back on and it wont start. I wait a coulple of minutes and it turns back on and works perfectly. What could it...

stalls when driving, engines don't turn off they stall or run, or misfire. engines are self sustaining, they are not like an electric motor that turns on. just to be clear.
If you do say turns off,. this means to a tech, that you lost 12v power at the ignition, and EFI system. 12v power is/was lost.
this is not what is happening,

stalls:
try a tuneup. (top of list for 100 years now)
if it stalls only when driving. then say if your smart right foot can
save the stall.? can you, and is it very easy?
if easy, the ISC may be bad. (dirty, etc)
stalling can be simple or very complex. (Ask an ASE tech )

1:never ever tuned up, total disregard to the 60k miles service page in the glove box. op guide. aka; as the Service Schedule.

2: The EGR valve, is leaking. if it has one. no country stated.
3: bad idle controller , iSC.
4: air leaks in all MPI engine with MAF sensor will love to stall.
5: running rich, causing gross spark plug fouling and stalls.
6: gross lean fuel mix. (we call that bogging)

eg: I was driving , the engine bogged(lost power) i could not save
it with fast right foot and the engine stalled.
or
i stalled just as i reached a traffic stop,. elaborate please.

Stalls on right turns starts right back up

For trouble shooting, install a fuel pressure gauge an allow it to sit near the windshield wipers while you attempt to make it stall. Does the FP drop while turning?
