The dash lights on My 2001 Subaru Outback sedan faded so that the gas gauge and the left third of the speedometer were invisible. What does this suggest and how expensive to get it fixed? Thanks.

Hi there,
This indicates that the bulbs back there may have burned out. This is not a huge repair, usually an hour to an hour and a half labor charge plus the bulbs.

Idle problem (stalling) when car reaches full hot

There's a possibility that the ECT (engine coolant temp.) sensor isn't working the way it's supposed to. The engine may be at operating temp but the sensor may be telling the engine computer it's cold still and it'll act like an automatic choke on a carb. engine.
