Question about 2011 Chevrolet Suburban LT
Hallo all, I have Chevrolete Suburban 2011 LT, since I bought it as a new SUV with 100 miles on, I have I problem with engine vibration while idling the engine. I have now 6.000 miles on and about aproximatly each 7 seconds, sometimes each 15 seconds I can feel vibration in steering wheel and the seat and it makes very unconfortable experiance to sit in the car while no motion. While driving when the car is in motion, it drives well and nice with no problems. I took it back to dealer for computer scan and did no find any problems, actually it shows that everything is OK and the engine is in 100% perfect shape. They dont know what to fix. DO you hava anybody same problem like me ??? Any suggestions what to do ? Martin, Prague..Czech Republic..Europe
It seems that's you have a rough idle. This can have many causes but the biggest would be idling to low. Or a misfire at idle. Check your sparkplug wires maybe. There are to many causes to list. As for checking fine on a scan that means little to nothing. That just tells them if specific things have gone wrong not everything. I'd suggest going to a real mechanic shop as if they find the problem you can either take it to the dealer or there may be a way to bill it to them.

Its probably the intermediate steering shaft. The shaft where it goes thru the firewall is known for clunking on these trucks. GM makes a lube kit to fix the noise. I don't have the part number handy, but the parts guy at the local dealer will know what you are looking for.

Jack up the front end and put stands under it and block rear wheels. Look at axle boots and see if they are cracked. Try turning wheel back and forth sharply and see if you can hear any clicking. Problem could be outer axle joints. If the boots are cracked or you hear a clicking noise you will have to replace the axle. The axle and boot come as a complete unit. Please let me know what you find out.

SOURCE: engine shuts off while driving
I would suspect a faulty EGR valve, but is the check engine light on? If it is, take the vehicle to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve the fault code(s) stored in the computer. Most parts stores offer this service free of charge. That will narrow the search for the problem. Sure hope this helped.
