SOURCE: Brakes go to floor, I replaced brake pads, master

Hi chances are the master cylinder still has air in it.If thay put plastic bleeder hoses and fittings in there for you just throw them in the trash.go to your local parts store and buy steel lines to for it,you may need an adapter for one of the ports. and re bench bleed your master cylinder. You could have air traped in the system too.A vacuum pump with a brake bleed kit work's great for this.Thay are 24.99 at harbor freight I just baught one from them.If you don't have a harbor freight in your area, thay are on line at www.harborfreight.com. Hope this helps you.Thank You for using fixya....iluv2fish.......Ray.......

Are the sliders for the caliper free? It sounds like you replaced everything I would have looked at except making sure the caliper movement is ok.

Do you have to bleed brake slave cyclinder when replacing

replacing brakes or the brake master cylinder, or brake caliper? If your just doing brakes then you can get away with not bleeding brakes. Just open the master cylinder before you push the caliper in with the C-clamp. If your changing the caliper then yes you have to bleed the brakes. There is a bleed screw on the caliper.

I replaced both front brake calipers in front on 95 concord and there is no brakes now like maybe air is in the system three calipers bleed having problems with front passengers bleeding ?

Try pumping the brakes and bleeding it at the master cyclinder. The air bubbles will eventually work its way up to the master cyclinder, BUT also make sure you keep the master cyclinder toped up on fluid.

Have your vacuum booster checked for leaking, sometimes the one way valve that holds vacuum in the booster fails, It is in the hose going to the booster from motor.

1996 chevy blazer 4wd break petal goes all the way to the floor breaks r good new master cylinder blead all braks 10 times any sugesstins? help!!!

I know there is ABS in that vehicle, you might still have air in the ABS unit, you will need to get a manual that shows you the correct procedure to bleed the brakes. Master installed u need to start the bleed on the bench, then move to the ABS unit then to the individual calipers and/or wheel cylinders if equipped. I think there is a certain way to do it to avoid incorrect bleeding.

But i have also seen bad master cylinders brand new in the box.

Good Luck.

Once in a while the brake pedal will be low, normally after a 15 -20 highway ride! Seen when your usually getting of the highway!! This was first seen two month ago. Then after changing master cylinder I...

well all clues lead to the master but if you replaced it then that opens another can of worms...

when you push on your break petal a series of evens happen

the break boost assistants you in pressing the petal
the master cylinder plunger forces fluid around the break system and to each caliper/drum

you have to see if you got a re manufactured master ore a brand new one.. the problem sounds like the plunger in the master is allowiungnfluid to go past it.. faulty master,,,

the vibration in the break petal can only be 2 things...

warped rotors causing the caliper to osculate.. or theirs a steering component going bad

have a safty check done on your front end

Suzuki Vitara front brakes seizing intermitantely.

Be sure you have changed the break oil completely. Otherwise drain the hydraulic system and renew with correct type of oil. If you have a ABS system you have to check that also.

How to pull the caliper off to change the pads on 1993 mercedes 300d

Line the bottom of the master cyclinder with paper and cloth.
Loose the master cyclinder cap
GENTLELY push the piston back.
the level of the brake fluid will rise on the master cyclinder.
Slip the pads in
Close up the master cyclinder
Do a quick clean up.
=====
IF the rotor is in GOOD shape then you will not need to pull the caliper off.
The caliper is hold down by hex head bolts.
