I have a 2009 dodge journey and the other day in the mountains I went down a hill and then stopped to look at something and when i did I could smell something and my RR Brake was smoking and very hot. After it cooled down I drove 400 km home without and issue pulled the tire and brakes apart and can't find anything wrong. caliper slides on sliders and brake pad are worn evenly with lots of material left.

SOURCE: pull to the left, Brakes
Sounds like it was pulling before the brake job...if so the only thing you didn't replace was the rotors, I assume you turned them? and did you see hard spots on the rotor? discolored area that didn't cut the same......switch the rotors left to right and see if the problem moves or just replace them if they've been cut twice.

SOURCE: 89 4x4 dodge ramcharger will lock up front left brake
Had this problem on gm trucks. Replaced brake hose to caliper and fixed it. The inner core has failed and the outer core will fill and put pressure on the caliper.

Front or Rear? If it's the rear, make sure the E-brake is released.

SOURCE: Replaced brake pads on 2009 Dodge Journey, but now
Well you need to check your fluid level on the master cylinder first. Then I suggest that you bleed the brake system. Always start bleeding from the wheel furthest away from the master.

SOURCE: Replaced brake pads on 2009
Did you bleed out the air in the brake lines and replace fluid after you did the job? Is there any grease or other substance on the surface of the pads?
