Question about 1983 Buick Skylark
Whenever we take our foot off the accelerator, (stop signs, stop lights, going around corners), it stalls. This is everything we've done to the car so far (even not pertaining to the current problem): replaced the fuel pump, the fuel filter, we had to replace the alternator, spark plugs, roter. We were going to have the carberator (sp?) rebuilt, but they gave us the wrong kit so the guy just used a couple parts out of it and cleaned it really good. No difference. Then my husband thought it was the distributor cap, replaced that.. no diferrence.. still stalling. Anybody got any ideas because we just don't know enough about cars, and can't afford a mechanic! We are trying to fix this vehicle so we can sell it and buy a used truck. ANY advice would be appreciated!
Could be bad wires, dirty throttle body,or you can bring up by set screw at throttle, top or bottom.

It sounds like a weak fuel pump, which turns but not with sufficiant pressure.
I would also recommend looking at the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor which can also give similar problems.
Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

I had a 1987 Century and when mine started acting like that I took it to a garage and they hooked it up to a computer tester for free. Is she getting the check engine light coming on? They found that mine was running (lean) which ended up being my fuel pump. Which is in the gas tank and can be pricey to get done, between $250-$350 and of course the filter would get done at the same time and that is only$20
