You can check with the dealer to be sure, but I would say in the cluster. If you get a used cluster, it will have the mileage out of the car it was installed in.

My 2002 Saturn L100 odometer stopped working and isn't clocking miles at all.

Odometer
The odometer is an electronic digital display. Digits displayed are illuminated by the odometer backlight bulb. The odometer backlight bulb brightness is controlled by class 2 messages from the BCM to adjust the display for daylight and instrument panel dimming operation. The trip odometer and total odometer will show in this display area. The push button in the lower right side of the speedometer is used to toggle between the trip and total odometer readings. To reset the trip odometer, push and hold the button down for at least two seconds. The total odometer display has six digits with no decimal display. The trip odometer has four digits including a decimal point and indicates tenths of a mile or kilometer.
The body control module (BCM) stores the vehicle mileage. If the BCM fails, the cluster will display the last valid mileage that was sent before the BCM failed. For replacement of the BCM refer to the BCM section of this service manual. Replacement instrument clusters do not require odometer pre-setting before installation. If the instrument cluster is replaced, the mileage stored in the BCM will be sent to the new cluster via serial data, and shown in the odometer display.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

My speedometer works but my digital odometer does not work on my 2003 old alero

This is one guy's advice: Replace the speedo head, that should take care of the problem."

This site is also interesting because the guy said
General Motors cars had instrument cluster problems from 2003 through 2006. When I researched instrument cluster problems on the Internet what I found raised concerns in me. Many of those vehicles had problems that began with the instrument cluster, but eventually led to the engine refusing to start.
(an electronic instrument cluster, digital instrument panel or digital dash for short, is a set of instrumentation, including the speedometer, that is displayed with a digital readout rather than with the traditional analog gauges. Many refer to it simply as a digital speedometer.)

I am replacing the instrument panel cluster with another, will it have any effect on my mileage, thats already on my car? or will the car computer reset the new one, that i bought at salvage auto parts.

What ever mileage that is on the dash, stays with it. Mileage is not stored in the ecm. It is stored in the dash, the dash is another computer. So find one close to yours.

Will my mileage erase if i replace the old cluster, 2003 GMC YUKON

no your mileage will stay the same. Your actual mileage is stored in your vehicles computer (ecm) your cluster just displays the information
