SOURCE: Code P1632 on a 2002 Saturn how to reset

this is a anti-theft code....

try unlocking the door on the driver's side with the factory key. hold it towards the unlock for a moment or two...

it is also important that you not be using the valet key and that it is a normal factory key...

also try the key fob with the same process if the key fails...

good luck

SOURCE: Code P1632 on a 2002 Saturn how to reset

After the car dies, does the security light stay lit when cranking the car after it has died? If you wait 10 minutes, does the car start? There was a similar instance of this on a 2000 Saturn L100, don't know if t he post is still viewable. The ultimate solution was to replace the ignition switch. Local automotive parts store usually runs $50 and 2 hour of your time to set key code and install. It might be advisable to get a new key cut at the local dealer. They can cut a clean key from the VIN, if your key is worn. $10.00.

Code P1632

These cars had a tendency to "lose" the password for the theft deterrent system. Your body control module doesnt understand your key, therefore tells your pcm to discountinue fuel supply. To reprogram the system, start the engine and let it stall. Leave the key in the run position. The theft light should flash for 10 minutes. When the light stops flashing, Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds. Turn the ignition back to the run position. This procedure tells the BCM that on the next ignition cycle, to accept the new password. Now, it should start. If not, it may require the clearing of the code, and possibly the reprogramming of the PCM, which needs to be done with a dealer scan tool or equivilant.

OK.. depend on how many miles you have in your car.
The last week i had a costumer with the same problem.
It was the Catalystic converter damaged.
I think is a initial step to do on your car.
