The radiator fan is controlled by the cars computer. It recieves a signal from the coolant temp sensor. When the tempurature of the engine is great enough the computer will command a relay(s) to turn the fan on.

If you are having a specific issue please post the problem and ill be happy to help.

Where is the fan relay located

If you mean the radiator fan, the relay should be in the relay box in the engine compartment.
Check your owners manual for details.
The relay is grounded by the engine computer when the fan is needed.

I want to start the radiator motor

If you mean the radiator cooling fan, your problem could be a relay. There is a fan in front of the radiator and one behind. There is a different relay for each. The owners manual should tell you where the relays are located.

Does my 97jetta have a fuse for the radiator fan

Most likely a fuse and a relay. The location can be found in your owners manual. Look in the back index under fuses and relays. If the horn relay is the same you can switch it with the cooling fan and see if that works. You should also have spare fuses in your fuse box.

The engine fan won't turn off - it's never happened before - don't have the owners manual or I would try to remove a fuse - help please! I guess I'll disconnect the battery for now.

Hi,
The radiator coolant fan switch is the key here, It'll be mounted either on the radiator or a thermostat housing and controls the cooling fan( large brass unit with 2/3 heavy wires ) ! A replacement will be the best money you ever spent, (OVER HEAT JUST ONCE AND IT'S GAME OVER) . Drain the coolant (and save) when cool/cold and replace thermo rad switch , re fill with saved coolant , check for leaks and bring up to normal enging temp and observe fan operation.Good Luck

Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

1989 Dodge Shadow radiator fan won't come on. If I supply direct battery to the fan it comes on so I know the fan motor is good. What should I check? Thanks.

Sounds like the relay switch. Look in owners manual to see where it is located. I know some are under the dash and some in the engine compartment.
