I would say it is a cv joint or other suspension issue. The engine mount test is simple to do. 1. Pop the hood. Have someone looking at the engine. 2. Step on the brake and put the car in gear. If the engine literally hops a bit you have a bad engine mount. If you put the car in gear and the engine does not move, your mounts are fine.
