What is the adjustment of tapits in mazda b1600 gas

1586 cc engine is:

Valve side .012 inches (.30mm) on intake and exh
Cam side .009 inches (.22mm) on intake and exh

1272 cc engine is:

Valve side .010 inch (.25mm) intake ..012 (.30mm) exhaust
Cam side .007 inch (.18mm ) intake .009 (.22mm) exhaust

Working on 2000 dodge stratus replaced timing timing belt removed cyl head sent to mechine shop got it back putevery thing back together fired up second try i felt like valve cover was getting hotter ...

just a thing to check. make sure your oil pump is in synch with your engine timing. sometimes the oil pump cycles 2 or even 3 times for each cam rotation. other vehicles it cycles 1 time for every 3 cam rotations. depends on your vehicle. otherwise, i'd say you have a valve guide seal in need of replacement due to oil slippling past it. rings are the worst case scenario since you removed the cylinder head did you prime it before you started it with an oil film? there are a lot of things it could be but i'd check these first.

EGR failure, can fail for 3 ways, input , output or the valve. 1,2,3
all 3 paths can be cleaned, few do.

first clean the valve.
then make sure the exh port barks, if you attempt to start car
with EGR main removed. if no , the exh. path is blocked 100%
if the exh . path is clear.
the it must be intake side, path , i check that carefully,
i uses weed-eater line, to back probe this path to see if blocked.
cleaning methods are huge long discussions......

on the cam shaft there is a dowel it sopose to be up while crank shaft pulley is aline to 0 in most case damper rubber on crank shaft pulley shifts and cant get timming line up. in that case you get #1 piston up make sure its # 1, then on cam shaft put #1 int. and exh. lobes opposite so int. and exh. are close ,when engine turns exh. opens
