I need a wiring diagram for the emission control system .

Secondary air pump failed on the car. So I need an electrical wiring diagram of the emission control system that includes the air pump, the related fuses ,relays,solenoid valve,and wiring. Thanx, Bob V

hi ecudave, i will go for a tune-up / clean up; the injection system, intake and replacing the sparks, regular maintenance like this will surely clean you emmision. as per re[air cost or shop costs, that will still depend on which part to clean or to work on or even to replace like the spark, but it will not be more than $400.

What the P2445 code means

The secondary air injection system is designed to pump outside air into the exhaust in order to help reduce harmful emissions. This trouble code indicates that the powertrain control module has detected a malfunction with this system on the bank 1 side of the engine.

What are the causes of the P2445 code?

The most common cause of this trouble code is a failed air injection pump. The air injection pump is designed with a check valve inside which only allows air to flow in one direction, preventing exhaust gases from escaping through the air pump and only allowing air to enter. When this check valve fails, moisture is able to get inside the air pump. During the winter months this moisture can freeze, causing the air pump to seize up and possibly break. Other possible causes of this issue would include damaged wiring or connectors associated with the air pump, blown fuses, or a broken serpentine belt

I replaced my secondary air check valve on my 2001 chevy tahoe but code 1416 still comes up. what else can i check

An Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump is used on this vehicle to lower tail pipe emissions on start-up. The PCM supplies a ground to the AIR pump relay, which energizes the AIR pump. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the HO2S voltages to diagnose the AIR system. During the AIR test the PCM activates the AIR pump during closed loop operation. When the AIR is activated, the PCM monitors the HO2S voltages and short term fuel trim values for both banks of the engine. If the AIR system is operating properly, the HO2S voltages should go low and the short term fuel trim should go high.

    I need a secondary air management system diagram for an 87 cadillac deville. the diagram i need is the one where there is a filter gm pn:a224c is located in the fresh air inlet hose going to the air pump.


    The A.I.R. (Air Injection Reaction) System was included on California-emission equipped vehicles. The system is designed to provide additional oxygen to continue the combustion process after the exhaust gases leave the combustion chamber. The system begins with the outside air inlet, which is a short, L-shaped open-ended rubber hose running from the lower front passenger fender well into the canister. The black plastic round canister is located in the front passenger-side engine compartment, adjacent to the EECS (Evaporative Emission Control System) canister, which looks similiar, but the EECS canister has electrical connectors on the top. While the charcoal canister of the EECS is a sealed unit, the A.I.R. canister has a twist-off lid to access the disposable filter. The inlet hose goes into the canister, air then passes through the charcoal filter, and travels into the outlet hose (also made of black rubber), which then connects directly to a metal tube coming up the front of the engine.     Code p0410b secondary air injection system? what does it meen? what is the cause?


    The secondary air injection system is an electric low pressure air pump that blows air into the exhaust stream to help burn up Hydrocarbons (HC), it only operates under certain conditions such as a cold engine. The common cause of failure is that the electric pump motor fails. The pump is sold as one complete assembly and is located under the hood of the car in the engine bay. The part is about $300 and is dealer only. Below are all the possible causes of the OBD2 fault code P0410 Possible causes - Vacuum hoses damaged.
    - Air Pump inoperative. (most common cause)
    - Air bypass solenoid circuit open.
    - Air bypass solenoid leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed.
    - Air diverter valve leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed.
    Other possible causes and solutions to the code. - Visually inspect vacuum lines for disconnects in the AIR systems and visually inspect for proper vacuum line routing. Repair if necessary.
    - Disconnect the air pump hose at the solenoid valve, start the engine and see if there is air being pumped

    Secondary air injection system malfunction with the check engine light on. The 2001 olds has 89,000 miles and is in good running condition...no other problems with the car known. Had a tune-up less than...


    Basically the secondary Air Injection Reactor system (AIR) forces frech air into the exhaust system to reduce HC and CO emissions. Thats why your failing its not doing its job.I'm not sure if you have a electric or belt driven pump ,or do you have the Pulse air system that uses natural pulses from the exhaust topull air into the exhaust system.
    Let me know which system you have and I'll give you the testing procedure. This is a fairly easy fix.

    410 secondary air injection malfunction code comes up


    P0410 Secondary Air Injection System
    "Secondary Air" is an abbreviated term for the "Secondary Air Injection System". This system uses a separate air pump and a series of metal and rubber tubes to force outside air into the exhaust stream and help the catalytic converter burn away excessive emissions.

    Possible causes and fixes are:
    #1 Poor connection, rubbed-through wire insulation or a broken wire inside the insulation.

    #2 Inspect harness connectors for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal-to-wire connection, and damaged harness.

    #3 Check for worn or loose AIR pump drive belt.

    #4 Check for pinched, kinked or restricted AIR pipes, hoses or fittings.

    Problems with this system can stem from electrical circuits, solenoids, or switches that control the pump and valves. Other problems include sticking valves, loose, rusted, or poorly connected lines, a broken drive belt, or possibly a bad pump.
