Open Question

1995 tahoe 1995 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 Liter 140k miles 4x4 auto. The engine at idle lopes. Then intermittently will cut out sometimes at higher speeds and other times you can be going slow. You have to give it gas to get it to clean out. We have put a New fuel pump, New Fuel filter, EGR Valve, Throttle Position sensor, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. Catalytic converter, radiator cap, and gas cap. Rebuilt Throttle body with new injectors and all new gaskets and Regulator. I think that is all the new parts. What am I missing????!!!!!

Okay, I bought this tahoe about 5 months ago. It just seemed gutless. So we were trying to fix that problem, put a Throttle Position Sensor on it, then rebuilt the Throttle Body with new injectors and all new gaskets and new Diaphram in the regulator and that is when this problem started. When I say this things lopes at idle it will go from 500 rpms to 1200 rpms. We set the timing on it also. We unhooked the wire to set the timing the correct way.

I have replaced the EGR Valve and also the PCV Valve. Just really hard to keep throwing parts at it. There is no check engine light on. Also, had it on a computer scanner and checked the Coolant Temp Sensor and it was good. Talked to the pervious owner and they had put one in about a year ago.

SOURCE: chev. S10 starts but stop's immediate when hot

check compression, at that many miles the exhaust seats could be wearing up into head causing valves to stay open longer loosing compression, while the engine is cold oil is thicker ,lifters pump up further do to thick oil when oil thins out you have less lifter pump up thus working working properly check compression cold should be 125 low to 155 any less than 100 you have valve prob.

Spray the intake with carb cleaner to find the vacuum leak. Check where the EGR mounts and the throttle body gasket sense you had both off.

Have you checked for vaccume leaks?
You've got lots of parts in there, Has the problem been the reason you have replaced all of those, or did it come up while doing some of the repairs?

You didn't list the year, but false ABS activation is usually caused by dirt or metal particles on the wheel speed sensor. Read the post below to find causes for ABS lights

My 1995 Chevy Tahoe won't shift gears as I'm

Probably the speed sensor on the transmission. It would cause both problems. You should also have a check engine light with a trouble code for the sensor.

My 2001 tahoe dies while idling in park. After waiting over night it started and ran fine until allowed to idle in park for a short time. This a 2001 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3 liter engine and 160,000 miles.

If the only problem is idle and it runs grat above ide then the most likely component is the Idle Air Control valve. This is providing you have no codes stored indicating something else.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

1995 tahoe desiel stalls when driving

I used to live on a farm where we had a number of Chevy diesel's in the 90-98 year range. The 6.2 and 6.5L diesel's in those trucks were known to have problems. A very common problem was with the fuel injection pump going bad, causing the engine to intermittently stall for apparently no reason during driving.
