1991 dodge ram 50 has been sitting for over a year. I drove it all weekend and parked it. now it it starts and shuts off when I. give it gas .changed fuel filter,sparkplugs,wires, no luck...any ideas???
Sounds like your fuel system may be gummed up. Try seafoam. Could be fuel pump. Is this carbureted or EFI. Check fuel pump.

hi if its not been started for five years and it is trying to start but just won,t keep running get someone to tow you and jump start it because i suspect the compressions will be low due to a build up of damp carbon valves sticking all in all the seats on the head and valve will not be seating so if you persisist with the jump start it forces the valves onto the seats and will clear the debrie if it still won,t go check your compressions yates210456

change fuel filter again may have gotten garbage in it and clogged it or if it is diesel lost its prime

Check your air flow to the throttle and the hose's sometimes the heat of the motor melts it a little and airflow gets blocked when in low rpm

carb or Fuel injected try cleaning either one of these bad distributor cap or rotor or distributor good luck
