SOURCE: Engine block coolant drain plug
Unfortunately g.m. screwed the knock sensor into the drain port on the block. It is on the rear of the engine between the eng. and the trans.. If you are flushing the system out then just remove the thermostat (also under the car on the bottom of the engine) and flush the system out. anticipate the water left in the system by adding aprox. 1/2 gallon of straight coolant concentrate before adding the 50/50 mix. thats sounds like the most likely culprit, collapsed cat. or collapsed muffler.. not cheap to replace. but has to be done.
