Why are the ABS and AWD lights remaining on after start up? I am also feeling a slipping or vibrating when applying brakes hard or on a steep hill.

the feeling from the brakes will be the ABS in operation. Run the fault codes to check ABS system for problems. have the brake system /pads and rotors checked for serviceability.

Steering wheel vibrates when Im stopped at a light

You may have front brake rotors which are slightly warped. The ABS only comes into play under very hard brakeing conditions. Typically you may also feel a slight pulse in the brake pedal as you slow down. That would be my best guess. If you have a vibration when you are stopped, that may be a motor mount issue. Either the front and/or rear mount may be weak. They are designed to isolate small engine vibrations you might feel when the car is at a stand still The motor mounts are designed to isolate small engine vibrations at a stand still at idle as well as limit the amount of travel the engine can make under a load. As a car gets older, the rubber which is what the mounts are made of get harder and often collapse slightly and can cause your condition because they are no longer plyable.Maybe this might shed some light on your problem. Good luck.

What are the signs off front wheel bearing going?Would ABS and AWD lock come on?

Generally not, you will hear a low rumbling vibrational sound when you are driving. Sometimes when you accelerate your wheel will feel like it is moving up and down.
If your ABS and AWD lock lights come on, you need to get your vehicle looked at and diagnosed.

I have a 1997 lumina and I have a blue idot light on my dash that says lock trac. what does it mean?

That light indicates that the ABS system is engaging, you should feel a vibration in the brake pedal and hear a groaning noise.

Renault clio abs light comes on with vibration through brake pedal. discs and pads renewed

How hard are you stepping on the brake pedal? What you are describing sounds like the ABS system activating. When you step on the pedal hard enough to engage the ABS the light will come on, in some cars it will blink. You will also feel the thumping/vibration in the pedal since the system works by repeatedly engaging and disengaging the brakes. If it is happening when you step lightly on the brakes then you may have a bad wheel speed sensor or possibly a bad or miss-adjusted brake switch.

ABS break problem

You're absolutely right, it's not normal and in my opinion your Saturn dealer is lazy, incompetent, or both. At the very least it's indicative of how little they value you as a customer.

Your problem is almost certainly due to cracked or corroded ABS reluctor rings. Just do an online search on those three words and you'll see what I'm on about. Get a competent mechanic to check them for you promptly as it is a critical safety issue. On some brands the rings only come as part of a complete drive shaft or hub assembly, but there are usually third party suppliers who sell the rings separately. Usually they're a tight interference fit and must be heated until red hot before slipping them onto the drive shaft/hub. If not the rings, then it may be one or more of the sensors that operate in conjunction with the reluctors.

Please note that the advice I have given is generic to almost all ABS equipped cars; I can't be specific to Saturn as I live in Europe (UK) and Saturns aren't sold on our side of the pond.

I hope that you have found my reply to be of use, please take a moment to rate my answer.

For the security light you need to replace the ignition lock cylinder or bypass the security system. For the other two, you need to have the car scanned to see what codes are in the ecm and the abs module.

Vibration when braking that I feel through the brake pedal.

Is it possible that you are hearing the abs pump running in the engine compartment? It sounds like an ABS problem with one of your wheel speed sensors.
