Good luck on your troubleshooting!
all back seats are either screwed down or hooked in. you need to use a little muscle and lift up your back seat to see which is which. there is no other way to gain entry to your trunk.Trust me Ive locked my keys in my trunk too. Now i have a hidden spare to my door and trunk. GOOD LUCK
hi. it is a little awkward but it can be done. if you go under the car with jump leads, connect the positive lead to the thick wire on the starter motor. connect the negative to the body or chassis. the starter lead is connected direct to the battery so it will give enough power for you to open the boot using the button or the remote.
My suggestion would be to open your glove compartment and pushing the valet button to release the locking mechanism for your trunk which would cause everything else not to work.
Just bought my 98 a week ago....from what I can figure out....the valet mode disables the inside button....until the trunk is opened by the key. From what I understand also....there is a valet key....and an owner key. (I saw the differences online this week) which also ties in with valet mode.
read your manuel, there are 3 different locations the key can be removed from and this eliminates theft if valet is used. when removed in a certain clock position, I don't remember which one but I had to look it up it locks
