If the compression is not right, it could be the timing belt.
If you have compression and spark to the plugs, it should start on carb cleaner sprayed into the throttle body.

SOURCE: Will not start

Pulling the fuel hose off and checking that way is ineffective as there is no pressure on the pump so you need to put an in line fuel pressure gauge to be 100% sure you have operational pressure.Have you got a pulse at the injectors? You will need to plug in a noid light tester to determine if the pulse is good and exists. You could spray engine start up the intake before the air flow meter and see if it wants to run.If it trys to run then its likely a fault in the fuel system.Im assuming that the other repairs were done correctly.

SOURCE: wont start\good fuel pressure\good spark

Then the fuel injectors are not pulsing, replace the crankshaft sensor,it controls the spark, but also the pulse for the injectors.

I've got a 2005 chrysler 300 and it won't start I have changed fuel pump, camshaft and the crankshaft sensor coils and spark plugs and i still wont start what could be causing it not to start?

Try to determine if it is fuel or ignition related.
Turn key to on, do you hear the fuel pump turn on for a couple of seconds? It should come on briefly to pressurize the lines and fuel rail on the engine. Do you have fuel at the engine under pressure? Easiest and preferred way is to check fuel pressure with a pressure gauge at the test port on the fuel rail. With key on, pressure on mpfi systems should be 40-50 psi.
If there is gas in the fuel rail, test ignition by checking for spark on the end of a plug wire, with the engine cranking over. If you have a blue snapping spark, then ignition is probably good-may want to check more than one plug wire. Hold the metal terminal end of plug wire 1/4 inch from a ground on the engine, the engine block or a bolt or metal bracket. Verify a blue snapping spark, repeatedly, as the engine cranks. An orange spark, intermittent spark, or no spark points to an ignition problem. One thing you haven't changed is the ignition control module. This module, when signaled by the pcm, is what cuts the primary current to the coils for spark to be generated.

If you have both gas and spark, check the fuel injector circuit. Post back if you need help with that. There should be an injector fuse that needs checked. Also a fuse for the fuel pump, if no pump action, besides the fuel pump relay.

1.6L or 1.8L vastly different engines... and EFI.
fuel to the rail , only means the pump is active , never good.
28PSI is minimum on all cars. 1psi will never start a car. ever
and the rail will shoot fuel, all day. it fruitless , unless the rail is dead.
see?
First the laws of EFI. (works all gas EFI)
  1. all fuses good.
  2. 12vdc to EFI system , below 10v is bad. (see lamps dim? bingo)
  3. The PCM (EFI brain) will never inject if it sees CMP/CKP or spark primary dead. ever. so, spark is first.
that is double reasons, fuel cant burn if no spark and if ECU
thinks spark is bad it cuts fuel, (fire safety and fuel hydralocking reasons)

so you connect any scan tool to the DLC, OBD2 port , by knees.
and crank for 5 seconds, release key, no turn off
see DTCs (errors) for CMP, or CKP sensors (cam/crank?)
bingo
no, then you crank and look at the RPM PID , live data stream the scan tool, see RPM go to 250rpm cranking, good.
ok , PCM thinks all is good....

i then check the #1 injector with a NOID lamp
i crank it flashes, good.
if not , i do all injectors , if one fails the pcm is dead on this line.
if yes, all dont flash the PCM is seeing some gross errors. ask. why./?
if all flash, then the fuel rail is dead. and your rail test was useless.

until you discloses engine option (size) I cant give spec numbers.
i then connect my fuel pressure gauge $20 tool to the fuel rail test
port, and i get 10psi, FAIL
i check voltage to the fuel pump cranking, i get 8v, bingo bad wiring
or bad fuel pump relay.
say 10psi and 12v at pump cranking,
the pump is bad, or the filter clogged , or the fuel pressure regulator
is stuck wide open killing all legit pressure.

that is how i do it.
keep in mind the PCM cant see fuel pressure on most cars.
some newer cars have this sensors. (nice)
low fuel pressure,. renders the whole EFI , useless. just junk.

I need to access the fuel injectors in my 98 wrangler, but i dont know how to get to them

FIRST NEED TO RELIEF FUEL PRESSURE REMOVE GAS CAP RELIEF GAS PRESSURE IN FUEL TANK.THEN REMOVE FUEL PUMP RELAY THEN START ENGINE UNTIL IT DIES LACK OF FUEL,CRANK ENGINE OVER FEW MORE TIMES MAKE SURE FUEL OUT OF FUEL LINES. THEN YOU NEED TO REMOVE AIR CLEANER CROSS OVER TUBE ABOVE FUEL RAILS. DISCONNECT LINES AT THE ENDS OF THE FUELS RAILS ASSEMBLY. MARK AND DISCONNECT THE FUEL INJECTOR WIRE HARNESS CONNECTORS. REMOVE THE FUEL RAIL RETAINING BOLTS, DISCONNECT THE VACUUM LINE FROM THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. REMOVE THE FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY FROM THE ENGINE. IF YOU HAVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REMOVE THE THROTTLE PRESSURE CABLE AND BRACKET TO REMOVE THE FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY.TO REMOVE FUEL INJECTORS JUST REMOVE CLIPS THAT RETAIN FUEL INJECTORS IN FUEL RAIL. BESURE GO TO DEALERSHIP BUY NEW FUEL INJECTORS O - RINGS.APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL TO THE O - RINGS TO AID IN INSTALLATION. TORQUE FUEL RAIL BOLTS TO 100 INCH LBS.

1994 chevy blazer new distribuator new wires new spark plugs new fuel injector (spider gear central port injector) new battery new map sensor new oil pressure/fuel cut of switch all this and it...

So you have fuel to the fuel rail. Do you have spark to the plugs? Pull #1 spark plug boot and see if it will arc about one quarter of an inch to the exhaust manifold bolt or stud.If no spark or a weak one is present then replace the coil. If yes then all we half to do is bring the two of them together ( meaning spark and fuel ) at the same time. disconnect battery and bring #1 cylinder up to TDC on the damper pully timing marks on the compression stroke.Once this is established remove the distributor cap and observe which tower on the cap the rotter is pointing at. It should be pointing at #1 tower. If not remove distributor and reinstall to #1 tower. Tighten distributor bolt to just to a snug fit to allow you to be able to rotate the distributor in eigther direction. Then turn the body of the distributor ( counter clockwise ) just so it is about a hair before #1 tower then stop. Now turn the rotter by hand ( clockwise ) to see if it will move in that direction all the way past #1 tower ,then release it to go back to its propper position. then all is well and the motor should fire right up. Finish up with timing light. And then tighten the distributor bolt down some more.I hope you find this helpfull. If you do then please give me a good rating. If you do not find this helpfull then give me a good rating anyway. Ha Ha Have a good XMASS.

I would check for spark at the plug wires, and check for fuel, there should be a pressure test port on the fuel injection rail to connect a fuel pressure gauge.

Fuel system or electrical short in fuel system

My 92 740 regina would crank sometimes and sometimes would not. I reached behind the engine and felt a cable (crankshaft sensor). It had exposed wire and cuts. This fixed the problem. I also have to clean the positive terminal connectors on the battery. One of them, if not clean, will cause it not to crank. I don't know about the pressure regulator. I have not messed with the pressure regulator. You can pull the fuel line going to the fuel rail off. It is a rubber fuel hose. Attach a clear tube and run it into a empty bottle. Attempt to crank. The bottle should get fuel in it. I can't remember how much it is suppose to get. It will tell you if you are getting fuel to the rail.
