Vehicle not running as computer not working. Apparently, it is not the altinator but could be the wiring from altinator to computer. What would the cost of a new computer board cost and is it worth it as...

If the computer is bad there is no way to diagnose the alternator problem. A new ECM for the vehicle will cost anywhere from $400 to $1600 depending on where you get the ECM at. Because of the way these are made you'll have to replace the whole thing. Once assembled they encase the board in an impact gel that is designed to protect the board from damage caused by impact. It also has the unfortunate side effect of making it near impossible to repair these since the chips can not be reprogrammed by anyone without a special computer with special software.

Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' (Service Engine Soon) light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.
Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

My 2004 toyota highlander a/c blows cold air and also hot air. Do you know what causes this and how much it will cost me to fix it?

Yes, I know the answer. The wires on the heat control knob have come loose from the main circuit board. It is a ERY expensive part to replace. However, you can repair it, if you, or somebody you know, can solder wires. You will need to remove the AC amplifier assembly, and disassemble it. it is apart, you will se 1 or 2 broken wires on the control knob circuit board that connects to the main board. Resolder them, and you are good to go.

Dash Control Unit Replacement

You can save a LOT of money by fixing it yourself.

All that is wrong with the knob are broken wires from the knob's PC board to the main PC board on the AC control.

All you have to do is remove the AC main control, take it apart, and resolder the broken wires from the PC board with the knob on it, to the main AC pc board. There are 3 wires, any number could be broken.

If you take it apart and solder the broken wires, this WILL fix your issue. Just make sure you put the wires back exactly where they go.

A FIXYA rating (4 blue diamonds) would be most appreciated for my assistance.

Engine Light Came on... Tightened Gas Cap... Still on! Is there something else I can check... Everything seems fine...

Most on-board computers will require some kind of a reset command to erase existing stored error codes and there is no consistency between brands. Some will erase the stored error codes after some number of starts (or key cycles), our Jeep requires 50 cycles and no interim repeat of the original code.
We own no vehicle for which we have no aftermarket service manual since these contain that type of info. Haynes or Chilton are the main sources and they cost ~$18-$30 US.
