from what i am seeing alot of people that have your type of vehicle went with different cars because of all the things that are messing up on the 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante, i personally would not spend endless amts of money trying to fix something that is just gonna keep breaking down, but that is just my opinion.what i would suggest is that you need to decide for your self what you want to you, do you want to keep spending money that you dont really have to just spend money for a vehicle that wont break down every 10 min, think smart not hard,
You will use about 37 gallons of gas, for a total of $144. This is assuming that the MPG is 26 and the fuel price is $3.89. You can check exactly how much it will cost at this site: My Trip Calculator.
Tell that Silverado to stop spending money then check the ignition timing and air filter. Might not be a bad idea to spray WD40 where the intake manifold gaskets are while the engine is running. After spraying in different areas if you hear an RPM change then your gasket is in need of replacement.
Check to ensure that your gas cap is on tightly. If it is, you might consider replacing the gas cap before spending big $$$ on sensor and tubing replacements. Good luck.
I had the same problem,I changed the fuel filter, and gave it a tune up.I also found out that I got better mileage on 87 octane fuel, but runs fine now..
Like so many other folks on here you can spend big bucks on a car but not the price of a tank of gas for the manual? Go to ebay and buy a manual, the car was not cheap, get used to spending money on it.
Other than the regular, let off gas sooner etc., you may try a K&N air filter, synthetic oil? I guess it all depends how much you want to spend. 1.8L 4 cylinder, and mileage isn't good? Please eloborate.
