Where is the air fuel sensor located on the engine in a toyota


In the exhaust stream. Usually it is the one closest to the engine. Looks just like an O2 sensor.

Where is the cam sensor located on a 99 pontiac grand am 2.4 litre? also where is the crank sensor located?


They are located as follows: the cam sensor on the 2.4 engine is mounted on the side of the front camshaft, right next to the fuel rail you will see the wires following to it and the crank sensor is located right above the oil filter on the engine. Hope this helps

99 toyota camry has error messages p1133 & p1135. which sensors & where are they located? six cylinder engine.


These are both air fuel ratio sensors, These sensors are located in the exhaust manifolds, the front one (bank 2) is easy to get to, the one in the rear is more difficult, they require a special socket to remove and install. The O2 sensors are located behind the catalytic converter and are not the same as the A/F ratio sensors.Replacing the sensors is not what the codes are telling you.You could have a plugged air filter giving you diminished air intake. That's not a bad sensor. A mass air flow sensor could be reading bad and giving you a bad mix of fuel so that your O2 sensor reads a problem. Get it? Or the O2 sensors could be bad after all, probably not both though.

Understanding trouble codes for my vehicles


first the quest, this is common for nissan, replace the knock sensor, this sensor is located under the intake manifold rear of engine, some models you can sneak sensor out without removing the intake, this will take care of that car. now the camry, im guessing this is a 4 cylinder engine, replace the air fuel sensor (oxygen sensor) thats on the exhaust manifold. this will solve that problem. hope this helped.

LEAN TROUBLE CODES (P0171 or P0174) A code P0171 or P0174 indicate the engine is running lean. This means there is too much air and/or not enough fuel. You can confirm the engine is running lean by looking at Short Term Fuel Trim (STFT) and Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT). Normally, STFT and LTFT should be plus or minus 8 from zero. If STFT and/or LTFT are more than about +10 or higher, it indicates the engine is running LEAN. Negative numbers (-10 or more) indicates the engine is running RICH. A lean fuel condition can be caused by:

* Low fuel pressure due to a weak pump or leaky fuel pressure regulator. (use a fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure at idle)

* Dirty fuel injectors. (try cleaning the injectors)

* Vacuum leaks at the intake manifold, vacuum hose connections or throttle body. (Use a vacuum gauge to check for low intake vacuum)

* Leaky EGR valve. (Check operation of EGR valve)

* Leaky PCV Valve or hose. (Check valve and hose connections)

* Dirty or defective Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF). (Try cleaning the MAF sensor wires or filament with aerosol electronics cleaner. Do NOT use anything else to clean the sensor, and do not touch the sensor wires)

______________________________-- Causes A code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
  • There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.
Possible Solutions Possible solutions include:
  • In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
  • Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
  • Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure

99 RX300 Engine code keeps coming up lean


Check for vacuum leaks. ie, vacuum lines them selves, the rubber tube that runs from the air filter to the throttle body. If it has a plastic intake manifold, possibly the rubber port seal gaskets between it and the engine. Lean codes are set when the PCM isn't monitoring all the air coming into the engine (vac leak) or low fuel pressure.

Can not locate map sensor on my 99' F-150 with a 4.6


Your engine doesn't have a MAP sensor it has a MAF sensor , they do te same thing in different ways, that is tell the engine control how much air is entering into the eng. Here is a picture of the sensor which is in the air intake hose to the engine.

RODEO 99 ECM PROBLEM


that can happen for several reasons the least being the ecm. first thing is it could be a weak fuel pumpand the only way to check this is with a fuel pressure gauge. it should be between 17 and 25 psi. next it could be the TPS(throttle position sensor) this controls your idle. this is located on the throttle body has a weatherproof plug and is held with (2) screws . next is the engine speed sensor this helps the ecm adjust the fuel/air mixture in conjunction with the TPS,IAC valve,O2 sensor<and the egr valve. to pinpoint the sensor problem you have to have a diagnostic scan done. please rate this.......thanks
