SOURCE: I have a 93 Eagle Vision we ran out of gas now the car will turn over but is getting no fire

There may be an air lock in the fuel line or fuel pump.
Pour some fuel in the carby and start the engine. You may need to do this a few times to get the air lock out of your fuel line/pump.

Crankshaft sensor regulates fuel pressure. When pressure is not detected the system defaults and kills the spark to plugs. A fuel pump relay is not expensive and good to keep spare in glovebox if old one was good anyway. I had similar problem and also fueltank screen was in pieces and plugging up. But mine needed crankshaft sensor.

My 2002 kia sportage started acting up when appling gas, especially at stop signs and going up hills. It was real labored for it. It did not cough or spputter just more labored and hesitant. This went on...

did you take on fuel with the engine runnung?? if so when you remvoed the gas gas the evap emmison control systemwill be set off. to correct this jsut take the positive cable on the battery off for 1 min. then put it back on. this will reset the computer also where you air cleaner is you will see a hose running from the air filter box and a clamp holding it on at the other end, take clamp off their is a screan under their, get some mass air flow cleaner ( around 10.00) and clean the caron off the screan so the engine can breath agine. NEVR take on fuel with engine running it sucks airthrew the gas tank and does small back fires threw the the mass air flow you will not hear them but the exsperance you are discribing is the results. once you do this you should get your power back and the car should not runn sluggish any more

I just changed my rotor and cap on my jeep wrangler and i put the plug wires on in the wrong order the car started for a second and died so i pulled the firing order up on line and put them in the proper...

You threw the timing off by running the engine with the firing order wrong.....The newer cars for the most part control timing by ecm....If your car has auto timing control and it probably does....just disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 5 minutes so the ecm can reset...Hope this helps
