Question about 1999 Ford Explorer
I have to spray starter fulid to get it started it runs fine until I let it sit for a few hours and then I have to spray starter fluid again to get it started. It is really a problem when I let it sit over night.
Has anyone checked base fuel pressure before and after the engine is first started ?

Turn key forward listen for the fuel pump to pressurize if you don't here anything then your fuel pump needs replaced and it's in the tank.

No not the fuel pump. You most likely need to do a tune uo. New spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. Deffinently change out the spark plugs. I would suggest using autocraft, autolite (fords brand} or some densos or ngk for better performance. Hope this solves your problem.
