Check and adjust drive belt.--- have the alternator tested ---have a load test done on the battery---
Remove battery terminals and clean both posts and terminals
with sandpaper until you see shiny metal. The black coating is
lead sulphate which has a high resistance to current flow both into and out of
the battery.

Clio 1.5 diesel van stood for weeks will not start just turns over a little bit then jams whats the fault???

Low state of charge on the battery may be the cause here or a failing battery. Have the battery charged and load tested.

01 chevy express van security light flashing and van won't start. Van sat for a while battery was completely dead charged it and put a new battery in it and now it won't start. Just cranks over

Do a reset. Ten minutes on, 30 seconds off. Try to start. If it doesn't, do a relearn. Which is 3 times the reset , don't try to start until the third time. Have a charger handy, don't let the battery get low.

Battery died, charged it took it for a drive half way back home dashboard lights went out heater also went out van almost died, when we finally stoped to park turned it off then decided to try again and...

Take your battery in for testing after charging it. Then, to avoid pulling the Alternator for nothing, drive to a local Autozone, Advance, or Oeilys and ask them to check your charging system on the Van.
Consider taking an extra battery if you have one to fit, so you can get back home after the test. Run the van with the charger connected until you get good heat, then reduce the blower fan speed to minimum. Then disconnect charger.
If you are still stuck on the road, jumpstart the van until it is warm, using the jump car to charge the battery so you can go home and try again. Just leave the battery jumpers connected to the struggling van battery a few minutes so the old battery has a chance to charge.

You need to do a complete tune-up on the van. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace the battery. If not check fluid level in each cell, if low you can fill to correct level with distilled water. then you can charge the battery. Using a volt meter you can check the alternator at the positive post on battery with the van running to see if it is charging correctly. You should have 14.5 volts to 15 volts. check the air filter and replace if dirty. Check the spark plugs and replace old plugs. replace the fuel filter on van. hope this will help you.

Solar battery charger

Yes, but the efficiency of solar cells is terrible. Its one thing to use free sunlught to charge the cells, its another to have to pay the electric company to do it. If you can access the batteries in the solar rig easily and they are in the correct voltage range, I think you would be better off getting a battery tender (trickle charger). Just let the van sit outside until the batteries are fully charged, then connect the battery tender to keep it fully charged.
