most gas models are either in line along the frame or in the tank. diesel models will have the fuel filter located on top of the motor under a little plastic cover
there are two or three things that can cause black smoke on a six cylinder van.a bad fuel pressure regulator is one.it is located on the fuel rail. it is silver and has red vacuum line attached to it. remove the hose and see if fuel comes out of the regulator, if so replace the regulator. next a bad map sensor can cause black smoke. it is located under the hood.bolted to the firewall. its a black square plastic object with a wire connector attached to it, also it may have a vacuum hose attached to it. if it has a hose see if the hose is broken. otherwise just unplug the map sensor see if it changes the idle. if it does than chances are the sensor is good. you could have a bad injector also. disconnect spark plug wires one at a time. if one of them does not change than that injector maybe bad. thats all i can help with. good luck.
checkout the crank sensor give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your Van wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.
Hello there: If you have tried priming the fuel pump by turning on the key and listening for the fuel pump to be running if it is it may just need to be primed with a hand priming pump untill you get fuel but if you still dont get any fuel i would check out the fuel filter to see if it is clogged and needs to be replaced to locate the fuel pump and filter go under the drivers side and look at the frame of the vehical not quite half way back and you will see the fuel filter and just in front of this about 10 inches towards the engine will be the fuel pump ok> best regards michael
depends on the type of fuel injection on the motor... on the CSEFI injector
assembly the regulator is located under the air intake plenum on the back of the
fuel meter body
Where is the fuel rail located?
