Question about Ford Ranger

Open Question

Code p0122 I have a code P0122. Something is wrong with the Throttle Sensor. I replaced it and my truck is still jerking really bad like something is wrong with the transmission. The RPM's are going really high like its sliping out of gears. It is a 2000 Ranger Automatic 2.5. The ABS light is also on, no check engine light on. Any one know what could be causing it to slip like this after replacing the TPS.

had same problem i would check the Idel Air Valve and also check all of your vaccum hose lines makeing sure there are no cracks or splits in rubber connectors if there is repair immediatelt because over time they start to dammage the internal parts fo the engine and if youve replace tps mass air etc. sounds like a vaccum hose problem

SOURCE: 2004 Honda Civic -Code P0122 Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Low

yes, this is the case of a failed throttle body, in which case it needs replaced, the car is getting too much fuel causing the high idle. this needs replaced asap. you could proably find a small independant honda shop that could do the work for less.

Po 122 problem light on had changed sensor problem not fixed trans not shifting right horrible jurks when it shifts.

P0122 is TPS signal low, which could mean you have a bad TPS, or a fault in the wiring or connector. I suspect a bad Throttle Position Sensor.

code p0122 refers to throttle position sensor A /accelerator pedal position APP switch A --low input or switch B circuit malfunction===causes--wiring short to ground TP/APP sensor--ECM--wiring open/short to ground/short to positive--TP/APP switch --ECM. I would replace the sensor first paying particular attention to the wiring and connectors ( water ingress and dirt)

What is Codes PO122 & PO303?

P0122 = TPS (throttle position sensor) voltage reports too low. This means that you could have a problem with the TPS, the wires to the TPS or the computer, if you have not replaced the TPS or do not want to do this work, I would take it in to a shop for this to be done. The TPS may require adjusting after replacement.
P0303= Cylinder Number 3 Missfire Detected, this means that the number 3 cylinder has miss fired, probably set this code as a result of the P0122 code. I would repair code P0122 and clear both codes. Hope this helps, let me know.

Check engine light came on trouble shooting code is P 0122

Code P0122 is a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) sensor out of range.

The operating range of the TPS is about .5 to 4.8 volts. .5 at idle 2.5 at half throttle and 4.8 at full throttle.

This can be checked easily with a scanner. But can be checked with a multi-meter.

You can try replacing it for a start and see what happens
