Code p2004 refers to intake manifold air control actuator-bank 1--actuator stuck open===Causes---wiring--intake manifold air control actuator---mechanical fault .I would check blockage and wire connections Then I would replace the actuator But I would not tear down the engine as it is between the air filter and the manifold. Check the air cleaner element

SOURCE: Door locks on Ford Expedition stuck

Look under your steering wheel right under the dash. There should be a small white strip with 5 numbers. This is your master code for your vehicle. If you bought the car used and they give you a code, they could have made their own code, but the master will override it. If this don't help, the module for the doors may be going bad.

SOURCE: Code P2004 Bank 1 runners stuck open, What is the

Hi,

This code indicates Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open, Bank 1

Its hard to be very specific about a fix on this as there are a few potential fixes including the outright replacement of the intake manifold. If the Manifold Flow Valve blades are seized in the intake manifold, the manifold will have to be replaced
However this code can sometimes have a very easy fix and if you are lucky you may find that it is caused by a split vacuum hose connecting to the actuator. A leak in the vacuum system will set the code and I suggest you check this out first as a potential cause.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Where is the egr valve on a 99 Ford expedition

The EGR valve is in a very difficult spot to work on. If the EGR is bad it will set off the check engine light and make the vehicle run rough or stall at idle. It really doesn't make it run rough while driving or accelerating. What are the conditions when the car runs rough?

Quest code p1136

P1136 NISSAN - Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Bank 2
Possible causes- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 2 circuit is open or shorted.
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 2 circuit connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 2 Tech notes Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.

Need to know how to install knock sensors and where they are need diagram. 2005 expedition 5.4 engine

Hello adamjerkins,

It is somewhat complicated to change the knock sensors. There are two of them and they are located under the intake manifold. The intake manifold must be removed. I would recommend tha you replace both while you have the engine apart.

What leads you to believe the knock sensors are bad, I've seen few bad knock sensors? The knock sensor issues more times than not have been caused by other problems.

After you remove the intake manifold disconnect the knock sensor connectors. Remove the bolts and the two knock sensors then replace with new knock sensors tighten the bolts to 15 foot pounds. Reinstall manifold. The total job for an experienced mechanic with tools is about 5 hours. Not a good job for a beginner.

2001 ford windstar codes read P0171,P0174, P1131, P1151 and P1401. Need help in knowing what they mean and how to fit. Please can anyone help before it is hauled to junkyard.

Hi, the first 4 codes indicate a lean condition and the 1401 is an EGR solenoid circuit issue. If the EGR valve is stuck open, that could account for all of these codes. Typically though, the first 4 are caused by leaky intake manifold gaskets on this engine. They can also be caused by a leak in the air intake hose or resonator. Check the intake hose/resonator from the air filter to the throttle body for tears or leaks. If none, get some carb cleaning, start the engine, and spray the carb cleaner on both the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. If the engine revs at all, you have a gasket leak.
For the EGR solenoid, I would pull the vacuum lines off and see if you can blow thru the solenoid. If yes, it's stuck open and needs to be replaced. If not stuck open, test it by applying 12 volts to pin 1 (red wire) and ground to pin 2 (brown wire). It should click open and allow you to blow thru. If not, replace the EGR valve. I would test the EGR solenoid first. As I said before, if it's stuck open, it could cause all of the codes you have. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Check the valves for that cylinder. Open the valve cover and turn the engine by hand and watch the valve as the 5th cylinder opens. Both the intake and out valves have to open then seal right back down. One of them may be stuck or burned out.

P2104 P2112 P2111 My 2005 Expedition continues to cut off and the engine light comes on. After a few miles the light goes off. Then the problem starts all over again.

The p2104 code was set because the PCM had to set the idle speed, the p2112 was set to indicate that your throttle body was stuck closed. You can try to remove the throttle body and clean it, check to ensure that it opens smoothly, check the TPS connector to ensure that it is plugged in correctly, reset the light and if the problem returns, you will probably have to install a new throttle body assembly. Hope this helps, let me know
