Question about 2001 Ford Taurus
When my car gets hot it will not want to go over twenty miles a hour and then it will die what is the problem
There is a safe Mode called "Limp Home" which usually occurs when the engine overheats. If your engine is doing this, then there is either a cause for this or a defective heat switch.
Some engines will make a Code and activate the "Check Engine" light. This style can be checked with a Scanner. If such a light is on in the dash, Autozone, Oreillys, or Advance autoparts will check it free.
If no warning is present, the Water temperature should be checked. There can be reasons for this problem and it will need to be checked for the cause.
