SOURCE: O2 sensor problem

I have a 97 gmc sierra .This truck is the same as the chevy ok.Its a 350 5.7 liter 4x4 Z71.I took it to auto zone which was my first mistake. They put it the scanner and said bad O2 sensor.Ok so which one is it i said. They dont know.Well there four (4) O2 sensors in this truck i hope you know that.I had to replace all four of them before i had to take it to a real shop.It seems the fuel pump i replaced a week earlier with an auto zone fuel pump was bad.Ive changed my feul pump 4 times now and have 235000 miles on still running. You need to get your fuel pressure checked. It should be 65 psi to start it and 55 psi to run it.If the pressures are good it could be a different O2 sensor or maybe the mass air flow senor. My last option would be the fuel pressure regulator because it seems to be a waste of time and money.I would get that fuel pressue checked first.Good luck.

SOURCE: '05 PT Cruiser O2 sensor problems.

I had a similar problem with my car. It turned out the O2 sensors were fine and the issue was a leak in the throttle body causing the engine to run lean. If you have an ODB2 scanner you can look at fuel trims, etc and will be able to tell.

Hi I have a 97 Ford Thunderbird that is throwing the codes: P0141, P0155, P0161. I am trying to find out why it didnt throw the code P135 as well.

have you had an electric short with a blown fuse? three of the four could have come up due to a wire shorting on the exhaust pipe or where they come together.

I have a 1997 ford expedition 5.4 L with the check engine codes of PO153 and PO133 coming on.... the truck stalls and jumps need to know what part to replace or how many i need?

PO -133 O2 Sensor Slow Response

Po -- 153 same thing

Check for vacuum leaks --every where

Clean MAF Sensor -CRC MAF Cleaner

Replace the 2 --front O2 Sensors, if over
100,000 miles on them The ones closest to motor

Use the OEM Type not the cut & splice
universal junk

NAPA can order them
Should be Bosch or NGK

Codes do not tell you anything about what is wrong
or what to replace.
