SOURCE: will '89 Ranger leaf springs fit a '99 Ford Ranger 4x4?

Measure the distance from bolt to bolt, and to the center. If they match then, they match, if not you will have to check the numbers with fords tolerances to avoid an axle wrap. But it should fit, maybe just a little stiffer of a suspension from the 4x4.

SOURCE: Faulty timing belt on a 1993 toyota 4X4 hilux with a 2.8D motor.

Ready? Remove all the stuff in the way of the old belt. Radiator, pulleys, belts, covers, have a new tensioner to put on? How about that water pump? Get a socket big enough for the crank pulley bolt, you just want to turn the engine over a little. Get the new belt with marks on it, they come in real handy, and when you are ready to let the old one go, bring the motor around to tdc. There is a mark on the crank pulley, when that aligns, the cams should be on their marks as well, clamp the cams from moving, they are under spring tension, they won't go far, but just in case, remove the belt, line up the new one with the marks on it to the marks on the cams and the crank, pull the pin on the tensioner, and you should be all set. Put it all back together, fill the radiator back up. Hope this helps.

Hilux springs on my 97 4x4 diesel are parallel to chassis was told this is normal by one repairer and told by another that they need to be replaced can you advise me which is correct and can i have...

Toyota leaf springs are bad for sagging (weak metal in the springs ) Resetting and new springs are a waste of time unless you take steps to ensure that it stops the sag problem. I repaired the springs in the mine fleet by pulling the springs out and measuring the distance from the spring eye centres (String stretched between the eyes) and the top of the top leaf at the centre bolt. have a spring maker add about 3/4 to 1" to this distance and add 1 extra second (3rd) leaf to maintain that distance under load. What you are doi9ng is increasing the spring camber and holding it to stop the sag. IT makes the vehicle ride better and it sits up just a touch. If you do the back at the same time the vehicle will improve and sit right.. S0 to answer you --YES the spring sag is quite normal in Toyota hi-lux with some case almost having the chassis bump stop touching the spring and YES to the second mechanic in that you should do something about it.

if there are leaf springs in the rear of both vehicles and the centre bolts of the springs are the same distance apart then it will fit unless the wheels on one are closer to the body than the other. (track) A tape measure will prove this.. The drive pinion and tail shaft u-joint set up should be the same. Check that the diff ratios are the same or you will have transmission problems ( this is the most important point). Difference between front and rear diffs.

How to replacefront leaf springs on toyota hilux dualcab4 x4

undo the 2 small retainer studs from the pin-plate. Place a nut on the thread of the pin and do up partway Ensure that the vehicle is placed on stands with the wheels just touching the ground so as to relieve all tension in the springs. Hammer the nut on the pin . It will also help if you use a pair of stilsons on the plate twisting while hammering. The plate will move out revealing a large hole on one side . When the pin moves freely remove the nut and hammer on the plate. As to the front swing shackle remove both nuts and with a bar between the spring and the hanger hammer the plate and pins out. undo the spring u- bolts and remove the spring Note-1--- do one side at a time as it retains the location of the front axle for spring replacement. Note--2---Hilux springs are bad for sagging so have an extra leaf fitted under main leaf Note--3-- do not use eurothane bushes as they will crack the chassis in adverse conditions.

2010 hilux under chassis repair the suspention to lift 4inches high

Reset the sagged springs if leaf spring. Fit aftermarket coils otherwise. Fit longer shockys so they don't bottom out. Check max operating angle of drive shaft joints as 4" will reduce their operating life and cause drive line vibrations fit extended shackles also on rear. While it looks tough remember the extra height raises the center of gravity of the vehicle making it unstable in most conditions.

Front leaf springs shackles keep folding up and droping the front end

You will need to replace the front leaf springs or have them set and tensioned. This entails a specialist heating and bending the springs to their original shape. While you have the leaf springs out replace the shackle bushes. Depending on your budget now would be the time to buy those Old Man Emu suspension parts you've been eyeing.
