SOURCE: clutch overhaul
I don't know that car in particular but the transmission must be removed and reinstalled.
I have done this on other Fiats without help but not without a lot of profanity, skinned knuckles and inventing supports and guides to get the transmission back in again.
Even having a friend won't help much since working at home, you will be half under the car and there isn't room for a buddy.
A well equipped shop will have the needed facilities to do this job with ease.

for safety reasons, only a dealer can get your key code from Ford and make you a key. You will need proof of ownership and your VIN number and ID. 1-800-241-3673.
You can try calling Ford Roadside Assistance. They may be abe to help.
Sometimes, you can take a long, thin screwdriver and lift up the door handle. Slide the screwdriver in the slot under the handle. Move around till you see the lock button move and try to pry it up. Also, local police might help with a slim jim.

Your problem here is most likely going to be with the glow plug relay / timer unit -- you will need to renew that.
From memory (!) I think these are located on the bulkhead of the van or the inner wing - but when you go to the Fiat parts dept. to get your new part - just ask them to show you in the parts screen where it is located exactly.
Once you renew that , it should be sorted for you ;)

I read on another site that if you get locked out, your radio will show OFF. All you need to do is keep your radio on for an hour. It will reset itself. Your car doe not need to be on. Not sure if this works, but it is worth a try and may save you $80!!
