Question about Cars & Trucks
I have a 2001 VW Jetta GL (automatic, 2.0l). The heat is always on, even with temp turned low and AC on. Blower fan works fine. The engine temp gauge says no overheating. I occasionally get the fault p1296 which I believe is a engine coolant fault. I do not know how flow is controlled to the heater core, but I suspect a control module malfunction. Do you think flushing the system might help? Any suggestions?
