SOURCE: replacing the starter on my 2005 Kia Rio

1st disconnect your battery (Tools that I needed. 14mm socket for mounting bolts, 13 mm socket and a drop light. You need to jack up the front end pretty high both sides and put jack stands under each side. (extra precaution I put wood under the wheels because I don't like getting crushed. Slide under your car (bring a drop light) Look up and see your oil filter. Now look left and you will see the starter motor (oh yeah there is a pain in the as s bracket in the way) remove that bracket (14mm should be right) and then remove the bottom bolt of the starter (you may need a long socket extension here 8"?) The next set of bolts you have to get from up above that come from the other side. Get your light in there the one on the left side is easiest so get that last. The one on the right side will have a wiring harness running really close to it. Force your 14mm socket onto it with a 4 in extension. Back the bolt off till it spins a free but leave it in the hole. Remove the second one until you hear the unit fall. When putting the two bolts from the other side in, don't reef on them to get them super tight. Save your core so you can get some money back. Good repair manuel will cost 20 bucks, Haynes auto repair at your local auto parts store. good luck

SOURCE: i need to know how to replace a timing belt for a

The timing is electronic and non adjustable. If you change the belt and don't have it set up (positioned) exactly right , you will cause major engine damage.
Pistons will hit valves and bend them. Don't do your timing belt unless you are experienced at doing that job.

Why does it feel like my tires are flat when I drive on the highwayin my 2013 Kia Rio when I just got the heat shields replaced because ey won't stay secured correctly? Is there a flaw in the design?

I don't entirely understand your reference to heat shields. The only heat shields I know of are associated with the engine exhaust system. While these can cause problems and make noise they don't affect the ride quality or cornering.

Your description of your tyres feeling flat while driving makes me think it is time to carry out a thorough safety inspection and in particular tyres, wheels, suspension and steering.

The symptom indicates a problem with wear or misalignment of the suspension (including the rear) and/or steering.
A thorough inspection is required to ensure the vehicle is safe. The feeling of flat tyres should ring alarm bells...

If the inspection and alignment check reveals no faults, I suggest you pay attention to the tyres. The symptom could be caused by tyre mismatch.

I have experienced this myself and also a number of cynical customers have, dubious of my diagnosis. One of the most unsafe cars I have ever driven, in theory, had nothing wrong with it. The car would be strongly influenced by minor defects of the road surface so without the driver doing anything at all the car would literally veer across the road by a complete lane. Being in control of the car was less like driving and more like wrestling.
The owner had replaced each tyre as it became worn. The result was four tyres of different manufacture and tread pattern.

Tyres do not travel exactly in the direction they are pointing. The difference between the actual and theoretical direction is called the slip angle. For the best ride quality and predictable braking and steering the slip angle of all four tyres should be identical or similar and that means fitting tyres of the same manufacture and type or at least in identical pairs. If that doesn't happen sometimes the slip angles are not sympathetic but in opposition with the distinctive "flat tyre" symptom, which is relatively rare so it is important to eliminate other possibilities first.

Where is the starter located

Hi, the Kia Sedona starter (and all other major parts) are the same from 2000 to 2005. Here is a link with your starter location and how to remove it:

In this pic you can see the starter's location (hidden behind the exhaust heat shield):79720193-778a-42e2-b4ff-a2d753f3adce.jpg

INEED TO KNOW THE LOCATION OF THE OIL FILTER FOR A 2005 HYUNDAI

Forward on the engine, left hand side. Since the Tucson has a engine 'under-cover' shield, the shield must be removed to access the oil filter (5 12mm bolts & two plastic spread retainers).

I hear a rattling noise when im idling and when i press on the gas. I was told it was the heat shield. I have a 2005 dodge neon. I wanted to know how the heat shield was held on. and can it be fixed?

There's alot of shields on those. I've seen the ones bolted to the floor area, along the exhaust tunnel, to rot out. Not the ones bolted to the cat converter, for the most part. Very hard to replace without removing the exhaust first. Then the bolts usually snap or round off, requiring grinding & drilling to replace the bolts. Pain in the **** for anyone. Even me, a Master Tech.

My car has a horrible exhaust problem, makes noise. Even louder as the speed increases. Also it puts out mass heat. My trunk got so hot that the carpet inside of it started to melt. Im not sure if its...

Well it sounds like either the muffler itself has a rupture in the outer shell or the exhaust pipe going into the inlet may have a hole or a bad weld (or loose clamp if it's not welded in place) as to the heat shield you'ld just need to raise & support the vehicle and really inspect exhaust to pinpoint problem and see if the heat shield has been replaced too. I'd imagine the top of the muffler has blown out and all that heat is hitting the trunk pan and melting your carpet
