SOURCE: Kia Sportage 2003 - Solenoid Valve

This sounds like the idle air control valve. This valve sits on the inlet manifold and basicly regulated the flow of air for tickover( or idle). The usual operation of this valve is, when the engine is running at high speed the valve will be closed, when the engine comes down to idle, the main throttle butterfly will shut as you lift your foot off the pedal. The idle valve will open and give a small amound of air to the engine, just enough to run it at idle speed. These valves can stick open, therefore letting air in when the throttle is open, giving the engine too much air. WD40 is only a temporary repair untill it jams again. Best course of action is to have part replaced.

SOURCE: Transmission shifts harsh after driving it 10-15 miles

alright, since the computer sees the transmission slipping, it maximizes pressure to try and compensate. with the 1870 code it is referring to the lockup clutch in the converter. I have seen colleagues remove the TCC (torque converter clutch) valve from the valve body and insert a stiffer spring to remedy the situation, but i have only seen it work effectively once. It almost always resulted in more problems and headaches wither immediately, or a week down the road.

i know its not what you want to hear, but a rebuild will probably be your best bet. hope this helps.

SOURCE: How do you replace a Drivers side headlight bulb 2006 kia spectra

Helps to remove the battery, but small ahbds can do it.

Directly behind the lens is a big round cap ... twist it off. The bulb is held in place with a spring that locks in to a notch in the holder. When handling the new bulb, don't touch the glass. The oil from your skin will cause it to shatter when turned on.

The OD solenoid is located inside the transmission attached to the hydraulic control valve body. You must remove the transmission pan to access the pack of solenoids.

1999 escort solenoid on transmission is it a difficult fix?

its inside the transmission and requires removing the valve body now this is where most people make the mistake and loose a bunch of little check balls dont and i mean dont turn the valve body upside down when you unbolt it and when you go to put it back on if your having problems with the check balls staying put try using a lil vaseline its tranny safe.
