Question about 2008 Chrysler Pt Cruiser
Hi Cruisers :) Having problems with my 08 PT Cruiser. I actually drove it around earlier today - no problems! Parked the car. Went back to it in the afternoon, placed the key in the ignition, and the car started for about 3 seconds then turned off. Repeated this approximately 6 times over the hour until the car no longer turned over. All electronics are working. Also, after the initial testing, my cars FOB and spare FOB no longer worked; I had to manually enter the car. Red dot error code is displayed on dashboard - something to do with the security system? I've read that opening the hatch with the key manually will disable the factory security setting - however, my key does not work on my hatch! I'm not sure if this has always been the case, but I thought it was odd. Anyway, I know its a spring Friday, but any answers would be greatly appreciated! I'd love to be mobile by Sunday :)

Since the second key does not have the electronics in the case, it will not allow the car to run, as it thinks its being stolen. If you give your local chrysler dealer your VIN number, they should be able to produce a second key that will start the car. (VIN number is found at the bottom of the windshield on the driver's side or on you ownership)
