First they told us they would replace the radio with a new one as we have a warranty which covers it. Then, after 2 weeks of waiting for the radio to come in, I call and am told that the radio was not ordered and they would not replace it because it was not the radio that was in the truck when it was built. It was in the truck when we bought it. They said because it was not listed with the vin, it was not covered under the warranty. They finally decided to get it fixed after I complained several times. We asked for the manual several times and still haven't received it. The service attendent saw that we needed the disc when I picked it up after repair. That was over a month ago. I called this morning and am still getting a runaround. I am about to go directly to Dodge and bypass the dealer. We have had enough.

Took your advice and contacted Dodge directly. They told me that there is nothing they can do for me except transfer me to Navtec, which they did. After being on hold for some time, I am connected with a customer service person that tells me he will transfer me to someone that will be able to help me. Guess who! DODGE!!!! I explained that I was transfered to him by Dodge and he told me to hold while he contacts them himself. I hold for a bit then am taken off hold but he guy doesn't say anything. So, I listen. He sighs several times, and eventually hangs up on me. GRR!! I am so disgusted. I searched the Navtec site and the disc is 149.00. However, we still dont have the manual. Very disgusted and wil be calling Dodge back AGAIN!

Refer this problem directly to Dodge. The dealer should know how to get what you need - his response doesn't wash

You definitely gotta have the dealer ship redo the wiring for the navigational system. Although the wires didn't short anything out, but the two similar wires may have been crossed during the installation. Aftermarket or not, the unit should have made no difference unless it is a defective unit.

if you do not want to go back to the dealer then take it to an alarm shop which does private installations on cars and trucks because most of the time when they install after market alarms they bypass them or just pull out the factory alarm altogether.

SOURCE: time clock change on dodge ram navigation radio

Press "NAV" to go to the main navigation menu.

Scroll down and select "System Settings"

Scroll down and select "Clock Setting"

Make sure "Show GPS Clock" is selected with a red check in the box.

I had to switch "Daylight Savings" from "ON" to "OFF" in order to bring the time back an hour. I assume that I'll just have to switch it back to "ON" in the Spring in order to move the time forward and hour.

Nissan Elgrand Where can i find an English onwer's manual Book and English Navigation system Book for 1998 Nissan Elgrand Model?

There is an article on eBay by a1benz about this. He claims the factory fitted Navigation system can not work in the UK or Europe and he fits replacement systems. He says that CD player will only play DVD's if they are navigation discs and will not play DVD movie discs (Is this due to the Region settings on the player perhaps?)
It is also worth noting that the TV system is NTSC not PAL so anything you try and plug into it will need to have the output set to NTSC!
I have found a supplier offering English Navigation Discs for v6 and v7 of the Nissan XANAVI system but unfortunately I don't know what Elgrand system version is.

2005 Mercury Mountaineer with DVD Entertainment System that will not read disk

The data on the DVD map disc ages at a rate of 15-20% per year. As the data ages, the functionality of the navigation system declines. Offering GM customers new navigation DVDs will ensure that the customers have the latest information for their system.

General Motors offered a Navigation Disc Update Program for alot model year vehicles. This program concluded on December 31, 2009. The DVD Navigation Update Program policy has changed and customers are no longer eligible for free annual updates, however, a navigation DVD update disc can be purchased for $199 (USD) + shipping.

If the navigation disc is needed for a warranty situation, the disc can be purchased for $120 (USD). The dealer must provide a VIN and RO# XXXXX qualify for the reduced price. The dealer must call the GM Navigation Disc Center, as this option is not available on the website.

The GM Navigation Disc Center launched on March 15, 2006. There are two ways to obtain an updated disc:
* Via the web through gmnavdisc.com
* GM Navigation Disc Center 1-877-628-3472

Technical Service Bulletins are sometimes generated to address specific navigation radio operational or performance issues. When a navigation radio bulletin is issued, it may contain instructions to utilize an advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update with a specific part number. GM dealers must order advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update discs as directed in the specific bulletin.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Can't get navigation and cd player to work

You can purchase the manual from the dealer. You need the disc for the nav system to program it. Another is you may need to have a code to operate the nav. Did you press the mode button to go from radio to cd? Try to detach the negative battery or press the reset button to factory default, this will bring you back to the factory settings. It looks like a small hole on the radio face. You must use a fine point to push it in and reset it. Is a cd stuck inside of the cd slot? Do all your trouble shooting first and you will find your answer......runjoe

Nav system

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
  1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
  2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
  3. Press the NAV hard key.
  4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
  5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
  7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
  1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
  2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
  3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
  4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  5. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.

I am just guessing, but it sounds like whoever traded the car in might have given you a disc that wasn't for your particular vehicle??? I ordered a disc online, thinking I had the right one... and it read Disc Error as well when inserted. However, when I got the part# right, the new disc worked like a charm.

Also, when I bought my Charger... the dealership told me that it is not uncommon for the former owner to switch out discs before they trade the car in. I would call your dealer and read the number off the disc to them... so that they can check it to be sure that it is one that should be compatible with your year/make/model before I went any further.
