Renault Clio Series, 1.4 16valve - starting problems.

clio can get problems with the dispacks fitted to the spark plugs. i would check them. the stop is to say something is wrong, if it don't get a signal or a voltage drop when something is turned on it turns off ecu functions. my friend had this model and had the same fault, replaced them and the fault went away. usually get a misfire when they on way out, but sometimes they just die.

Primary oxygen sensor

If the car is running fine, don't go chasing a yellow light with expensive repairs you don't need. Simply perform an OBDII scan of the stored fault history. Also get a print out of the existing faults, if any are present. Delete the fault history from the ECU memory, and go from there. On some vehicles the annoying yellow light comes on when you reach a preset mileage just to get you back to the dealer, for no reason. Let the ODBII scan be your guide, to avoid buying parts you don't need.

The malfunction indicator light came on about a month ago in my Suzuki Alto (2005) and I took it to the garage and was told there was a misfire in cylinder 2. I was told it was fine so they reset the light...

If the code has been a misfire in the same cylinder every time, the problem is very likely the ignition coil for that cylinder. When the ignition coil first starts to go, the malfunctions will be sporadic and therefore difficult to troubleshoot. The ignition coil can be tested for resistance on both primary and secondary windings in the coil to prove it is failing.

Coil packs keep blowing

cops. (coil over plugs. how many does it have) and how many blew, and did they blow in the same cylinder. gee. just some hints here. (im too lazy to day to look up unstated engine type)
define blowing.?
1: coils burn up, primary or secondary windings (use and ohmeter )
2: rot. the boots on the ends just rot and you call that burn up?

the ends of those boots do not last forever.
i can buy just the boots, and replace just them. for most cars.
but mistubishi, huh? Google is friend there.

Peugeot 406 key fob not operating central locking

406 FOB / PLIP PROGRAMMING :

The 406 deadlocking remote control has specific button controls, and if the vehicle has two controls, one is set as primary and the other as secondary.

When replacing the Plip, a Primary or Secondary Plip are different part numbers and must be ordered as required. The white label inside the Plip is labelled PRIM or SEC.

1. Turn the Ignition switch ON.

2. Press the large Plip key button (Primary Plip)

3. Within 10 seconds press the large Plip key button (Secondary Plip)

4. If there is one remote, press the Primary plip button twice.

5. Turn ignition OFF.

6. Test Plip's for correct operation.
NOTE : On some 406 models, Plips cannot be re-synchronised unless the battery has been disconnected for 1 minute

Does the vehicle have coil on plug ignition or coilpack ? And it's not primary or secondary coil malfunctioning It's primary or secondary circuit . I'm assuming it has a coil pack because you say plug wires.
P0350 - Ignition Coil (Undetermined) Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction Each ignition primary circuit is continuously monitored. The test fails when the PCM does not receive a valid IDM pulse signal from the ignition module (integrated in the PCM).
  • Open or short in the Ignition START/RUN circuit.
  • Open coil driver circuit.
  • Coil driver circuit shorted to ground.
  • Damaged coil.
  • Damaged PCM.
  • Coil driver circuit shorted to VPWR.
P0351 - Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction See the description for DTC P0350. See the possible causes for DTC P0350.
Pull the spark plugs out an look at them , check the gap ,if too wide replace them . If the spark plug gap gets too worn ,the spark won't jump the gap. It will find the least resistance path to ground ,and it will do it inside the coil . Going from the secondary circuit back to the primary coil an to ground through the PCM - engine computer . The PCM has transistors inside that open an close the primary side to ground ,this builds up a magnetic field around the secondary inducing high voltage spark . Well this can short out the transistor inside the PCM . Most of the time that's what these type codes mean . The PCM would need to be replaced an programmed . This can also damage the catalytic converter. Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Try cleaning the groove under the Airhorn gasket. Then try it. A municipal mechanic who works on 4.6 engines in Police cars told me about the groove.

The TPS regulates spark and fuel, its not too expensive and wears continuously. A slow advance would make the engine stumble.

Thought of a fuel sample? You get same problems from bad fuel. Some "Octane Booster" might cure it until you can tank up with Premium. Good Luck

1991 Mercedes 300 e will not start fuel pump ok distributor ok coil and module are ok also but no sparks alarm was on and blinking but went away after charging the battery and locking and unlocking the car...

If there is no spark, either no electrical at the primary coil or the coil is not working.
if you already measure primary/ secondary resistance to confirm it is OK. Here is to test it - making electric pulsed signal at the primary terminals to see it spark at the secondary terminal.
You want to confirm everything works from the coil, so you can find out what causing the coil is not working. Here are what to check the coil before a replacement::
1- Disconnect the Positive cable on the battery.
2- Hook a spark plug directly to the coil wire ( the one coming to the center of distribution cap)
3- Find a long double wire so you can connect from the terminals of the primary coil to the battery.
4- Connect each wire end to the terminal of the primary coil. It doesn't matter which polarity.
5- Connect 1 wire to the chasis ground.
6- Hold the other wire and quickly swipe it over the positive terminal of the battery. Reapeat it until are sure that you get spark or not.
7- You should see or hear a spark. If this is the case your coil is good. If itis not, your coil is bad and it need a replacement. Problem is solved.
4- If the coil is good, the problem would be from the Primary of the coil back to the ignition key: No electrical signal to turn on the coil.
