D4eb 2.2crd sounds like noisy lifter, have replaced all eight noise still there, wonder if any problems with valve seats

possible
check cam lobes are all shiny and no missing sections
if it is a valve it could be a loose valve seat insert -- normally associated with a miss in engine noise
noise could be from worn rocker bushes or the rocker face on the valve stem end

Just had a valve job done and it makes a noise when I go to start it

Take it back to whoever did the work and let them find the problem. They should stand behind their work. if that does not work then what kind of noise is it making. If it is a tapping noise then the valves are not adjusted like they should be.

Ticking coming from the engine

Hi, The noise may be due to an exhaust pressure wave that is migrating past the secondary A.I.R. check valves into the hose plumbing. The pressure wave produces an objectionable noise similar to valve train noise or detonation. The noise migration is due to system pressure imbalances and is not an indication of a component part malfunction such as faulty check valves.

Perform strategy-based diagnostics to determine the source of the engine noise. For evaluation purposes. disconnect the A.I.R. crossover tube (3) and cap off the check valve outlet nipples (1 and 6). If this is the condition responsible for your concern, the source of the noise has now been eliminated and can be confirmed with a test drive.

Take care

Is valve adjustments needed on 2000 camry V6 I am hearing noises that seems like coming from under valve cover, you can hear the noise from inside car,but not from outside of car. I was told this engine...

The valve adjustment usually isnt done unless there is valve noise. If you think its valve noise, have the dealer check it or a shop that does a LOT of Toyota work. Special tools and shims are needed to adjust the valves. Its a LOT of work and will not be cheap. You will want to replace the spark plugs at the same time.

Pontiac sunfire valve noise

If it's a ticking noise that speeds up with the speed of the engine, it's a worn valve lifter.
You can try tightening it down by taking the valve cover off and tightening the bolt on the rocker arm, but don't tighten it too much, you will end up with other problems.
