Did you make sure you got the correct pump? If it is reversing flow...no cool...if you install thermostat upside down....no cool....if you have the wrong gaskets, or installed incorrectly, or too much sealant....you are gonna have these problems.Did you make sure you got the correct pump? I have a 95 Chevy s10 v6 vortec 2wd that is slightly dripping oil out of agasket ... I'm having same problem 2001 Chevy Blazer 4x4 (not xtreme) not sure if those same bolts are missing on mine.
Go to You Tube Video to find the problems with that motor & the solution A local repair shop can check bulletins in their data base for the fix also Most likely intake gasket,if you use Dex Cool It eats gaskets & the vehicle is old ,so you can expect to be constantly working on it
The website has software that looks for obscene words. I would think a compression test would show if the cylinder is having mechanical problems. And yes the intake or head gasket could be leaking again, especially if the intake or head were warped or cracked. Have you checked fuel pressure ? Does the spark plug for cylinder 5 show signs of coolant leaking into the cylinder ?
sounds like you have a leaking head gasket or intake gasket problem , for starters change out the thermostat first,if that dont work then move on to the gaskets
timing cover?? take it off again and check the pump.Did you clean the old gasket off properly??was it a new pump in a box?? could pump be faulty manufacture
I guess the burning question is , where is the coolant going. Is this a 4.3 engine? How many miles does the vehicle have? Has the intake gasket been changed? I'm guessing a can of "Bars Leak" may cure your problem. Let me know. Regards,
Hello, it seems that you have intake gaskets leaking. I'll bet you have the vortec 350. This is a common problem with the vortec, Gm uses plastic intake gaskets and they blow out over time usually to the externally but yours is internally. It is a pretty easy fix for the average mechanic to do. Thank you
PROBLEM IS STILL SAME
