SOURCE: Dual Temperature controls inside - 2002 lincoln ls

The problem is most likely a bad dual climate control valve. This component is located on the right side near the radiator under the hood. It will have several coolant hoses hooked to it and 2 silver cylinders protruding from it. You can clamp off the heater hoses at the heater core and see if both sides cool then and this will tell you that the valve is letting coolant thru when it shouldn't be.

This will narrow it down to either the valve or the control head inside the car,or wiring in between them. The only way to narrow it down further is if you have a scan tool that could access the climate control data. Have seen several of these valves cause this concern and have only seen one control head cause it.

SOURCE: driver side vent is blowing out hot air, passenger side is blows out cool air

Damper/flap for driver's side is probably stuck. Try moving the selector from cold to hot several times. Also, move the recirc/outside air control if the previous doesn't work.

SOURCE: one side air blows cold one side blows hot

GM has a known problem with the electric actuators that operate the blend and temperature doors in the HVAC system. There are 4 or 5 of these in the typical system. Any can start sticking or binding and cause this problem. Sometimes they can be cleaned, or they might need to be replaced. Sometimes resetting the HVAC system controller by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, then reconnecting it, will correct the problem.

When operating air conditioner, hot air comes out on the driver side, the passenger side is normal. What is my problem?

The "dual coolant control valve" needs to be replaced. This is what the T-bird has rather than a "blend door" or a "blower door" like other dual temp climate control systems. It's buried under a bunch of other stuff in the passenger side front of the engine and has about 3 heater hoses connected to it. A serious DIYer can do it (I did) but it was a royal PIA.

Defroster fan blows but no hot air comes out

If the heat blows hot, the defrost should also. If the heat does not blow hot air, it could be your thermostat, your heater core valve, or the heater core itself. with the vehicle being a 2002, the heater core is the least likely.
